Miguel Cabrera & Co. look to start out strong in 2007

Miami, FL -- Despite the loss of dynamic manager Joe Girardi, the Marlins are fully confident in their chances of being the Cinderella team of the National League in 2007. With young speedster Hanley Ramirez at the top of the lineup and slugger Miguel Cabrera driving in runs, this young Florida team will strike fear into the hearts of opponents all season. The D-Train, Dontrelle Willis, is the headliner of the young Florida rotation, and is among the most eager to begin the new season after going just 12-12 last year.

The Nationals managed only four hits off Dontrelle Willis
        Marlins 6, Nationals 1

Hanley Ramirez had a monster game, pushes Fish to win

Washington D.C. -- With Dontrelle Willis on the hill, the Marlins managed to win their first game of the 2007 season with ease. The young southpaw struck out six in his complete game effort, and allowed just one run on four hits. For the most part, the Nationals looked completely lost at the plate, but managed to come up with a few sparks against Florida's ace.

Offensively, the Marlins were better than ever with both Hanley Ramirez and Miguel Cabrera coming up with home runs against the hometown Nats. Cabrera accomplished the feat twice in the ball game, and Ramirez added two stolen bases, as well. With the first three batters driving in all six runs, the Marlins jumped out to a 1-0 record in '07.

        WP: Dontrelle Willis (1-0) - CG, 6 K, 4 H, ER

            Florida Wins Again
Hanley Ramirez continues to stroke, Fish now 2-0
            Marlins 2, Nationals 0

Dan Uggla drove in the only two runs in the game

Washington D.C. -- For the second straight game, the Washington Nationals absolutely refused to put anything together on offense. This time dazzled by the pitching of lefthanded starter Scott Olsen, the Nats managed to record just eight hits in the contest, and left with nothing to show for them.

The Marlins, on the other hand, put up double digit hit numbers again against the home team. Hanley Ramirez finished 3-6 in the contest and swiped another three bases, giving him five on the young year. Dan Uggla and Miguel Cabrera both went 3-4 in game number two, and the Marlins took the contest 2-0.

Have fun. Looks like you need some walks, and Alejandro De Aza is back in the starting CF spot now.

                Man, I never get walks.

I need a new copy of MLB 2K7, as mine's really scratched... hence the delay.

                I'll update sometime soon.
