It finally ended. Dixie Carter had sold her stock in TNA a long time ago. The ratings began to slip and the wrestlers became discouraged. Many jumped to WWE, but more stuck it out till the end. After losing their TV deal with Spike, TNA was all but over. The final match of Impact was Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting in a match all to similar to the last match on Nitro. After the match the entire TNA locker room emptied into the ring for once last hoorah in the Impact Zone.
With tears in his eyes, Jeff thanked everyone in the ring, the fans, and everyone else who made this run possible. He then announced he was retiring from the wrestling business. After the match was over, some of the wrestlers gave taped retirement speeches. Among those were Kip and BG James, Black Reign, Jackie Moore, Team 3D, etc. It was over just like that.
On a November 5th episode of Monday Night Raw Vince McMahon shocked the wrestling world. Just like he had done with WCW, he announced that he had purchased TNA. He began to ramble on about being the most powerful man in the world and asked the crowd what he should do with TNA? He finally admitted that he had purchased the contracts of some TNA Wrestlers. He promised the fans would find out who they were later tonight.
The Raw theme plays and JR and King can’t believe the turn of events. TNA had rose to the top and plummeted to the bottom even faster.
“HHH’s music hits”
HHH: I hear about these TNA guys, coming from the Impact Zone. I guess they wanna make some sort of Impact here huh? (Triple H smile and laugh) I dare one of these clowns to come out and meet me here right now!
“Kevin Nash’s music hits”
Nash: HHH you remember me right? I’m the guy who put your ugly mug over. I’m back and I’m ready to take over. You see Hunter, when you’re making a come back you gotta look back. You looks to your friends, you look to your buddies, you look to the kliq.
“The familiar music of the nWo hits”
Through the crowd comes Scott Hall, ambushing HHH from behind. Two on one on HHH. HBK comes running down the ramp! He makes the save for Hunter and picks Hunter up. They stare each other down and realize they need to band together to stop the Outsiders. DX music hits and the fight is finally on. DX vs. the nWo ! The Outsiders cower up the ramp as Shawn and HHH celebrate.
JR: What a way to kick off Raw ladies and gentleman.
King: You’re telling me J.R., did you ever think you’d see those four men in the same ring ever again?
JR: Not in my wildest dreams King. Not in my wildest dreams.
