    Opening Day

    Red Sox @ Outlaws

    Pedro Martinez (0-0) @ Andy Pettitte (0-0)

It was opening day at Enzo Field today, and a sell out crowd was on hand to witness the first game of the Austin Outlaws Franchise. The Red Sox got off to an early lead when Andy Pettitte walked Jeremy Giambi, and Trot Nixon capitilized with a 2 run shot in the 2nd inning. The Outlaws answered back when Tino Martinez got an RBI triple in the third. From then on, Pedro Martinez was just too dominating, striking out 11 in 8 innings of work, and only allowing 5 hits. Pettitte was pulled after the 8th inning, and Kyle Farnsworth came in hopes of keeping the game close. These hopes were shattered when Nomar Garciaparra hit a lead off home run, followed by a string of 3 hits and 3 runs. After the 9th, the Red Sox now had a commanding 6-1 lead. The Outlaws did their best to come back, and even after a 2 run home run by Loretta, the Outlaws fell 6-3. Loss: 6-3

            Bad News

Today when I looked at my calender it showed that all of the games are either home run derbys or futures games. If I try and play them it just takes me straight to a home run derby. I don't know what happened, but I guess something is wrong with that save file. I may start another post about another expansion team, but I don't know if I feel like going through and making a whole new team.
