Pitt Escapes a Huge Potential Upset

Maryland College Flames @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt plays their last game of the week before the signing period, and before they go on to somewhat tougher opponents next week: St.Francis (PA), Oklahoma State, and Duquesne.

This was another close game at the start, and Pittsburgh had another tough time generating half-court offense. Although they did not turn the ball over too many times, they took plenty of bad shots as the shot clock was running down. At the half, Pitt led 31-29.

In the second half, Pitt tried to pull away many times, but Maryland College kept coming keep, staying competitive. Although krauser's shooting was off for the game, he hit a big 3 at the end too seal the deal. Pittsburgh barely wins 65-58.

The Pitt Panthers came out of the gate, and made an And1 tape out of their game against St.Francis PA. Numerous alleyoops and dope defense was the result of often awe by those who attended the Peterson Events' Center on this night.

Krauser had himself a ballgame, dropping a game-high 26 points from 2 three-pointers and plenty of easy buckets in transition. This whole game was dominated by the perimeter players. Pitt won HUGE, 73-29.

This was projected to be the best game of the week in college basketball. Pittsburgh and Oklahoma State did not disappoint their viewers, and displayed a great game of college basketball.

The big matchup coming into the game was the Panthers' Carl Krauser pitted against the Cowboys' point guard John Lucas III.

Oklahoma State clearly controlled the ball game efrom the start. Pitt was never really able to utilize their strength of getting out in transition. As a result, the Cowboys took advantage of their tremendous half-court offense and defense. At the half, both Graham's lead the Cowboys to a 34-28 lead.

Pitt was able to turn the momentum into their favor at the Peterson's Event Center and climbed back into game, and even had a breif lead. OK State put their lockdown defense on again, and got their lead all overe again.

In the final two minutes, both clubs traded numereous baskets, but OK State got the last call, and Mcfarlin sunk a mid range jumpshot with 6 seconds left, which eventually won the Cowboys the game. OK State pulls out a great victory, 68-67.
