    Fantastic frosh sparks second half explosion from Devils

    DURHAM, NC-Things looked shaky at first, as #5 Duke didn't lead at all in the first half, and Valparaiso's defense was surprisingly strong, clamping down on the Devils for a 31-30 halftime lead.

    But freshman guard DeMarcus Nelson led the Dookies' 22-6 run in the second half to open things up, as the Blue Devils ultimately improved to 5-0 with a comfortable 75-49 rout.

          Can we get a challenge here, please?

          The #4 Duke Blue Devils continued their demolishing of their soft out of conference schedule for this season by beating the Toledo Rockets of the MAC, 102-54.

          The game was never in doubt, as Duke never trailed and opened the game up 26-5. They led 49-28 at halftime, and things obviously snowballed from there.

          Sean Dockery: 15 points, 12 assists, 3 steals
          Shavlik Randolph: 14 points, 6 rebounds

                              The crushing of the cupcakes continues.

                              Visiting Cameron Indoor Stadium this time was Illinois-Chicago. Things were once again ugly from the start, as Duke opened things up with a 15-1 run. J.J. Redick got into some early foul trouble, but the rest of the team picked up the slack. The Dookies led 41-23 at halftime, and again coasted through the second half en route to an 83-66 win.
