      1/3/05 GAME 7

      Conference Game

      (1-5) LIPSCOMB BISONS (0-1) Ovr - 66, Off - 72, Def - 69

      33 - 38 - 71

      AT

      (1-6) GARDNER WEBB BULLDOGS (0-2) Ovr - 68, Off - 75, Def - 70

      26 - 30 - 56

      WIN #2

In a game that looked to be the even match it was, both teams shot 38% in the first half. However our Bisons were able to shoot 2/4 from the 3pt line and 5/7 from the foul line to take a 7 pt lead at the half. Once again Lipscomb was out rebounded, this time not by as much as usual, 23-20.

(PG) Brian Fisk is once again leading the team with 7-pts; 2-Assts; and 2-Stls in the first half. If our boys can keep it going we might actually have our second win on the season and our first win in the conference.

WOW! That is the only way to describe the second half as our Bisons came out on FIRE. They hit 10 of their first 12 shots and went on a 13-2 run to finally put down the Bulldogs 71-56 for the Bisons second win of the season.

Lipscomb shot 45% in the second half to finish the game at 46% overall, and were led by (SR PG) Corey King 13 Pts.

The Bisons play again on wednesday as they go to North Carolina and match up against Conference foe the Campbell Fighting Camels on 1/5/05.

      Code:
      Lipscomb Game Leaders:

      (SR PG) Corey King 13-Pts 6-Assts 4-Rebs
      (SR SF) Matt Jarboe 11-Pts 2-Assts 2-Stls 8-Rebs
      (SO PG) Brian Fisk 9--Pts 2-Assts 2-Stls 7-Rebs
      (FR SF) Eddie Ard 9--Pts 4-Assts 2-Rebs

          Conference Game

          (1-5) LIPSCOMB BISONS (0-1) Ovr - 66, Off - 72, Def - 69

          30 - 32 - 62

          (1-9) CAMPBELL FIGHTING CAMELS (1-2) Ovr - 64, Off - 70, Def - 67

          30 - 36 - 66

          Heart Break

In a game that Lipscomb was favored, a thing that does NOT happen often, the Bisons flirted with disaster as they let Campbell keep it close with a 30-30 halftime Score. The Bisons shot 53% in the first half while allowing Campbell to hit 43%. The difference wa that Campbell went 3/3 at the line.

(FR SF) Eddie Ard Led the team in the first half with 12-pts and 2-Assts. Our boys need to get their heads out of the Asses to win this game.

The Bisons then folded like a cheap tent and let the Camels get the best of them. Lipscomb ended up shooting 51% but it helped not one bit as the Bisons followed their losing ways giving the game to the Camels 66-62.

What sealed the Bisons fate was the 10-2 run they allowed Campbell to go on to start the second half.

The Bisons continue conference play as they host the Georgia State Panthers this friday 1/8/05.

                  BISON STAMPEDE!

Lipscomb put together a GREAT first half, including a 11-2 run late to take a 14 point lead into the half. The Bisons shot 52% from the field while holding Mercer to 28%. And for one of the very FEW times this season Lipscomb led in rebounds, 26-21.

The Bisons the continued the dominance in the second half, even going on a 13-2 run midway thru the half, to put the Bears down 83-60. For the game Lipscomb shot 51% while only allowing the Bears 31% of their shots. They also continued to control the boards and finished with a 50 to 39 rebound lead. Our Bisons are now 3-7 on the season, and 3-3 in conference play, can they build off this win or will they revert to their losing ways?

The Bisons continue conference play as they travel to Florida to face the Jacksonville Dolphins this friday 1/14/05.

                      BISONS STAMPEDED

Lipscomb didn't score their first points until the 16:46 mark of the first half. They then did not get their next points until almost 7 minutes later at the 9 minute mark, at which point the Bisons were down 18-4. Lipscomb was able to finally get their shots to drop, and outscored Jacksonville 24-14 to finish out the half. But as the players headed to the locker rooms the Bisons still trailed by 4. Neither team shot well in the first half both hitting only 39%, and the rebounds were tied at 18 for both teams. All in all once the Bisons started hitting shots it was turning into a pretty even game. (SR PG) Corey King led the Bisons with 9 points in the first half.

Jacksonville started out the second half with an 11-0 run, which left the Bisons bleeding and beat, from which they would not be able to recover. The Dolphins kept pouring it on through the half before finally winning by 37, 80-43. For the game the Bisons finished hitting only 29% of their shots, while Jacksonville nailed 52% from the field. The Bisons were also out rebounded 39-28 on the day.

So it looks like after a one game winning streak our Bisons have reverted back to their losing ways. Next up for Lipscomb is to continue their florida (vacation) with a game at conference foe Stetson on Sunday 1/16/05.

Lipscomb started out playing a tough game against the favored Hatters. In fact the Bisons were shooting pretty well in the first half 48% and even out rebounded Stetson 18-13, to stay withen 4 at haltime.

The second half was the Bisons undoing though as they went 0-7 on their first shots. Stetson meanwhile put together a 22-13 run in the first 10 minutes of the half from which the Bisons could not recover and finally losing by 17.

Knoxville,TN -- The Liscomb Belmont game this evening looked to be a even match-up between two teams who were both in dire need of a win. It was definitely an even game as the teams fought back and forth all night, never being seperated by more than 7 points.

Both teams shot well in the first half 48% for the Bisons and 47% for the Bruins, as the Bisons took a slim half time lead of 40-38.

The second half is where things got really tight. Lipscomb drew first blood in the second half hitting their first 2 shots to take a 6 point lead, and then both teams defenses took over control of the game. Over the next 14 minutes both squads exchanged miss after miss with 1 or 2 baskets made here or there. With 6 minutes left in the game Lipscomb looked to have a good handle on the game when they took a 7pt lead at 60-53. However that was to be there undoing as the Bruins went on a 16-7 run to take a 69-67 lead with 0:10 left to Play. After using their last time out Lipscomb set up a play to get leading scorer, (JR SG) James Poindexter 19 points, the ball for the tying shot. The Bisons were able to get Poindexter a cleared look from the rigth side. He let the ball go with 0:02 on the clock and the Bison bench held their breath as the ball arced to the basket and ........ hit the rim, bounced up and fell to the floor sealing the Bisons third straight loss.

For the first time in 4 games the Bisons actually played with some semblance of intesity and they actually looked to have some disire to win. Even though they lost, their play was actually an improvement from their play lately.

Lipscomb gets another chance to get off this losing slide when they host conference foe FAU on Sunday 1/23/05.
