    Re: Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense (CFB25)

    I somehow overlooked your comment early so here goes.

    While the game offered more flexbone runs then I was expecting. I wanted to use that as my base, but not paint myself in a corner from the real world side of things. I want to be able to find a awesome TE and be able to use him. Because I want to go all 30 years with this file. As far as in game It's maybe what 80ish plays and I get 500 with a custom playbook. I wanted to find plays that were realistic to that style and give me just a little bit of freedom to keep things exciting

    I do plan on uploading my playbook to the EA servers today and hopefully get the video up to post tomorrow. I will tease you and say its a absolute blast what I've created and I'll put the fun factor of it up against playbook you will find. This game is a thing of beauty first game I used Arkansas with it and ran all over them. The next game I was a bad team and struggled.

    Another reason is since I'm doing this realistic I'm not going to have depth at QB for a few years. With my "powerbone offense" I think I can run it without a mobile QB. Its a smash mouth run heavy style playbook

Reasoning behind this is when you run a lot of triple, you really don't have the time to commit to the passing game b/c you're so busy working on the mechanics of the triple, the reads, the player movement, etc.

    So I thought "let me try a power run game with double reads out of the flex, but match it up with a passing attack." First game testing that approach and I had 262 rushing and 175 passing. It was a hell of a lot of fun and everyone touched the ball. I know you haven't given a ton of details about the "powerbone" just yet, but I feel like it's going to be a marriage between the run and the pass. Looking forward to what you come up with!
    From what I see team prestige does change pretty quickly. I'm running some test now with army recruiting. I know I will have heavy limits on the 3* I go after.

    If your coaching stint works out, let's see how quickly you get to 3+ Stars.

      Army QB Roster
      #OFFENSEPOSHTWTCLASSHOMETOWN
      13Bryson Dailey75 ovr6'0215SrAbernathy, TX
      14 Mitchell Bolden686'0208SoWest Chester, OH

      1Zach Mandell645'9180JrArlington, TX
      3 Cale Hellums555'10200SoTomball, TX

      Senior Bryson Daily is a decent starting QB and We expect improvements from his 900 passing yards, 7 TD and 6 int. His 916 rushing yards and 7 TD lead the team. The best part is he does have what the coaches are calling "physical abilities" and his 5 includes option king, mobile deadeye and extender.

      His best accuracy is short (86) with similar ability to throw on the run. His awareness (90) and play action ability (84) is what you would expect from a senior. While not a burner respectable speed/acceleration (82/86). His best trait could be his strength and despite his small frame is 6th highest in the country (81).

      A top priority will be keeping him healthy a big deal in this offense when the wear and tear adds up. The reason being its next to nothing behind him and the season is basically over if he gets hurt. Army apparently had a type at QB because they are all about carbon copies of each other. Sophomore Mitchell Bolden (68 ovr) would be next up and is basically a much worse version then Dailey. He will need to see the field some early just incase he has to start next year.

      Over/ Under Predictions
      1. 1,800 passing yards ?
      2. 27 total TD's ?
      3. 850 Rushing Yards ?

        Re: Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense (CFB25)

        When Billy was looking for what to do next it hit me that sometime to go forward you have to go backwards. He had major rushing seasons in previous stints as head coach yet not as much at Florida. He went back to his roots of what his dad taught him and even some offense he played against at the 1-AA level in college.

        The plan was to have a offense where flexbone was the base of it. However, that was only about 60 plays and with the limits he places at 2 per game that wasn't going to be enough. He filled it out with some other notable retro formations like Wishbone, Split T, Power I and Maryland. Then started looking for some more modern formations that would still fit.

        A major theme was he wanted to stay true to tradition of the flexbone/veer option style of play. He wanted a identity that you could easily label for anyone to know. That was ground and pound, heavy run and ball control offense. Thats why you will see zero shotgun formations and 4 WR's sets. Nothing is more exciting to us then 5 or 6 runs in a row then slip someone out on a play action pass for a big gain.

        The plan was to build a offense that you can also throw the ball out of despite the limitations of no shotgun/4 WR's set. This is the type of offense that historically can move the ball without elite talent. But what if in 5 or 6 years you can get elite talent to run it?

        Here is way more info than you probably want to know about it. You can also check out a video breakdown of it. After we get done with our offense roster preview we will have a full breakdown by position of the types of players we are looking for to perfect this offense.

        Singleback

        Wing Pair = 1 HB, 1 WR, 3 TE
        Bunch X Nasty = 1 HB, 1 WR, 3 TE

        Wildcat
        * HB lined up at QB with sub packages available for others

        Unbalanced = 2 HB, 2 WR, 2 TE (no QB)
        Jumbo Trio = 1 HB, 1 WR, 3 TE (QB lined up at WR)
        Slot Flex = 1 HB, 3 WR, 1 TE (6 OL + QB at WR... I think lol)

        Jumbo Z Weak = 2 HB, 1 WR, 2 TE (no QB)

          The HB room like so many is in a good spot at starters, but if a injury happens then it will get ugly. The roster construction of this team has me scratching my head because it makes no sense. Army has 11 WR's on the roster and just 5 HB's. As you see 3 of those 5 HB's are seniors and ones that aren't are bad. This could lead to a position change come fall camp time for one of the WR's. Four of the five are listed as elusive backs which isn't what Napier is looking for in this new offense.

          The good news senior Tyrell Robinson (82 ovr) is the highest rated guy on the roster. His 90 speed and 95 acceleration highlight what should be a 1,000 yard season. His 5 physical traits and 3 mental have many projecting a All American season. Miles Stewart (74 ovr) the other starter at HB has similar 90 speed, 93 acceleration with 5 physical abilities. These two should put up big stats in this offense, but will need to hold up with depth a concern.

          The other HB's aren't really worth going in depth about with fellow senior Hugo Smallwood being #3 on the depth chart. The biggest issue is none of the 5 are power/goal line backs which is key in this offense. We will go in depth with the recruiting strategy later on, but this is clearly toward the top of that list

          Over / Under Projections

          1. Robinson over 1,000 yards ?
          2. Robinson over 12 TD's ?

            Our plan is to make the FB position great again as it will be a key part to our offense blocking and rushing. I would project us to havea FB on the field about 90% of the time. If we have to pick one player we are the most excited about on the roster its Kayne Udoh. He is ranked as tied for 5th in the country at his position and is only a sophomore with 3 guys ahead of him graduating. His 524 rushing yards last year was 2nd on the team and he averaged more then 5 yards per carry.

            Udoh's 85 speed is 2nd best and 84 carry (3rd best) make him a legit weapon to carry the ball. He has some break tackle and trucking as well. He isn't a complete player though as we would like him to be a little stronger and better blocker. Despite being a sophomore we do project him to have limited upside so don't expect that overall grade to get past low-mid 80's.

            We are surprisingly thin at the FB position as Jake Rendina's eligibility is in question. The 264-pound strongman won the backup FB job in spring practice and we hope to get that ironed out soon. As of now the 2nd and 3rd string FB's are both seniors making this another position we will need to recruit. Dickson is a little faster and better run blocker so expect him to play some.

            ------------------------------------

            Playbook Press Conference

            Q. What one position on offense would you pick needs to change the most to run you're offense?

            The HB position we want to recruit more bigger and stronger powerbacks. The top 4 backs we have are 195 lbs or smaller and all elusive types. We are losing our top 3 at the position so we will look to address this in recruiting.

            Q. The most critiqued part of this offense is usually what happens if you get down early. What do you say to that and can you throw the ball in this offense ?

            Well the plan is to not get down early lol We do think we can pass the ball in this offense however it will be done in our style. Which is short passing and more checkdown styles then passing deep. We might not have a 4 WR set or shotgun, but we do think we can pass the ball out of this offense. Plus last year Army ran a lot of shotgun and finished 129th in passing yards so its hard not to improve on that number. We will look to establish the run first and then hit them with playaction out of the power sets.

            Q. What's you're biggest concern going into the year ?

            Without a doubt depth on the OL we are shockingly thin at the position. I would say has to be the least amount of OL of all 134 teams. We only have 9 OL on the entire roster so we can't afford a injury. To complicate things even more 5 of those are seniors. We have to go big at position and bring in atleast 10 this recruiting cycle

              Today we look at the roster overview for both the WR/TE positions. We start to see how bad the roster is made because we have 11 WR's on the roster and just 1 of them is a Senior. The 6 TE's is fine because 2 graduate so at worst next year we have the number's met. As we have said we don't have a 4 WR set in the playbook so its way to many players on the roster at that position. It seems like a lock someone will move over to HB during fall camp with Kevin Pointer being who we have our eye on. He is a physical WR and has 79 strength and 91 acceleration so maybe he can get some carries in short yardage.

              The star of the position is the speedy Junio Noah Short coming in with 94 speed and 91 acceleration. His 5 physical and 3 mental abilities make him the clear cut #1 WR for us. Napier has said he would like to see him line up at HB some and get some carries on jet sweeps. He is also the best route runner on the team. A potential transfer target so keep your eye on that

              Senior Casey Reynolds is a solid #2 at 6'2 has the best hands on the team. Liam Fortner is the clear #3, but nothing really special about him. We do have a interesting #4 WR in Sophomore David Clerk. The fastest offense player on the roster and also has 89 jumping so maybe he also gets involved in the running game.

              Not a lot to like about the other WR's we do have some size with Ross Sheffield, but terrible jumping ability. We could see Samari Howard having a role at some point more then likely next year. The 5'7 deep threat has 88 speed and 91 acceleration with the best hands of this group. Even though its to many bodies with the amount of seniors we have on this roster atleast we know one position we don't need to add anyone at.

              Its a pretty boring position at the TE group lead by two seniors. David Crossan is a blocker with good strength which is what we are looking for. He isn't going to put up many stats in the passing game unless he is getting the rewards of a good play call and running game working. William Montesi also a senior will be the #2 not a lot to get excited about with him. Sophmore Randy Farris(63 ovr) a Vertical Threat type will be the #3 TE and the early favorite to start at TE in year 2. Since he doesn't offer upside or blocking we hope to land a better option.

                Last week we mentioned the biggest issue on the team being just 9 OL on the roster with 5 of those being Seniors. We are pleased to announce two walk-ons have joined the mix and now we are up to 11 OL. While the new additions aren't highly rated atleast we know we have 5 returning OL if we strike out in recruiting.

                We value OL as the most important position in this offense, so we are pleased to say it's the strength of this team. It's lead by Sophomore C Brady Small (81 ovr) who could be a multi time All American before it's all said and done. Brady has impact development and plenty of room to grow especially with pass blocking and footwork. His 92 strength, 85 run block and 90 lead block with 8 abilities make him a great fit. Backup C Toby Martin is capable of filling in somewhere on the OL if need be.

                At tackle we have a pair of solid power guys in Law (75 ovr) and Hoyt (76 ovr). We have another pair of seniors starting at OG lead by William Jeffcoat (78 ovr). He is the 2nd highest rated guy on the OL and a quality run blocker. All 4 of these guys are about 6'3 300 pounds with 90ish strength. Junior Tanner Bivins (66 ovr) would be next man up for whoever gets injured. His 85 run block power leads the team so fill him in as a starter at OG next year.

                We are still hoping some Freshman get enrolled before fall practice starts we can breath a little easier now we at least a full 2nd unit. OL will be the #1 area for recruiting and we need to sign 10 guys.

                editor note - EA has updated the roster so finally gave Army some more bodies at OL and less WR/LB. They also gave me another HB and FB and the HB is a real player. Who is 22 lbs with the highest trucking on the team so a much needed power back.

                  Random Updates

                  I'm beyond ready to get this started as I've got my skill level up to acceptable now and still losing plenty of games. However realistically its at least 2 weeks out from starting.

                  One thing I'm waiting on in the patch which they are working on. I think a chance this could be backdated still I want to be safe. The recruiting scheduling bug, no offers for some 3 and 4* are the main things I'm watching here along with sim logic. If just one or two of these are fixed it will be good enough for me.

                  The big thing holding me back from starting is teambuilder not working. I've got 13 teams I'm building from scratch and can't get it working. I've tried different computers/browsers and all that stuff and can't even get the site running at a decent speed much less build a team.

                  One issues I've added is no recruiting of the athlete / scrambling archetype as they are ridiculously over powered. Even down to the 2* its mid 90's speed and arm strength with solid accuracy. Hopefully this will be patched as that's the type of QB I was likely to target early on. This appears to only be a issue for the ATH position

                  I will be going with slowest in coach skill tree and taction

                  The transfer in house rule is a no go from all sides so that's been scrapped. Thats mostly bc the "force transfer" screen is really a cut screen and lack of editing ratings (not a big deal). Ive had some seasons where I lose nobody and some when I lose my #1 and a bunch others if I lose a lot of games.

                  I've tried Armor & Swords sliders and they are working out good for me so I'll use them

                  Since I'm using a level 1 coach the move to a big school prob will take longer then I expected. So I'm thinking about 3 years at Army instead of 1/2.

                  The in house rules of limited 3* and no portal are really going to make this tough and fun. The Army Roster is loaded with upper classmen and only 4 freshman.

                  One new thing I'm adding is a height / weight system to help out with the size limitations. What I'll do is a 3 tier gold, silver, bronze and 3 honorable mentions. After I get my initial board set up I'll do a random number spin and adjust height / weight so gold up to 3 inches/30lbs, silver 2 inches/20lbs and then honorable mention just weight. I'm not looking for anything crazy just would like a little bigger at certain positions to avoid all sort being the same. If they commit to the CPU teams I'll still do this of its allowed.

                  I've got the initial post with rankings and record book updated for the most part. That will be a fun way to keep track of stuff when I get deep into this.

                  My playbook is a absolute blast if I do say so myself. In sim games the CPU doesn't think so lol

                  I'll get started out my profile of positions and what I'm looking for tomorrow

                  They have updated the Army Roster from when I started and its far the better as it was out of line. The HB's they added could be a real player and OL depth was much needed.

                  I've probably rambled on long enough so I'll end it here

                    QB WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                    Our next series will be breaking down what we look for in our QB spots. Army's QB job is open for the taking so it's possible a true freshman could win the job. Since we have limitations in recruiting and the portal that will be a harder than usual.

                    Top 3 Skills = Break Tackle, Trucking, Strength

                    When people think of what a QB will look like in a option scheme the fact that speed isn't on this list may come as a surprise. When we get to bigger school then yea that likely makes the list. In general, though we aren't look for Michaeal Vick/ Lamar Jackson at QB and more Cam Newton / Tim Tebow. We do want some mobility so would like to see high 70's as our floor.

                    We want a big and strong QB so we are looking for a QB with strength something which is hard to find in the modern game. You aren't really getting that from the athlete type QB's that come out. So the Improviser QB's could be where we find this. We didn't officially name it as one of our 3 as doesn't really show up in the recruiting phase. Toughness is also key with wear and tear and the amount of hits that come with the position.

                    The strength plays hand in hand with the break tackle and trucking. With the amount of QB runs we will have and this power scheme the main things we want is a QB that can break some tackles and run over you. Our main goal is to keep the chains moving and play downhill and this fits that.

                    If we were ranking our #1 passing trait on what to look for it would be play action.

                    Archetype = Scrambler or Improviser
                    The field general type is more pocket passer and the scrambler is pretty self-explanatory to be the main type we go after. The Improviser is the wildcard where maybe it's not a perfect fit, but we could make it work. We do think we can find a more balanced type of QB that's a improviser with a little more passing skills and just run less options. Yet still have enough speed to get some rushing TD's.

                    Top Ability - Option King
                    We run a lot of options so this one was easy.

                    Ideal Modern Day QB = UCF K.J Jefferson
                    They are more flashy QB's we could pick, but K.J would be ideal for us despite having the Field General archetype. At 6'3 247 pounds has the highest trucking in the game at 88. His 84 break tackle and 85 strength is 2nd in the game and 91 break sack is top 10. They are plenty of other faster QB's then his 86, but 93 acceleration makes up for that so plenty of fast enough to get yards rushing. He also has a added bonus of having 94 arm strength. We could do some damage with him in our offense with right players around him

                      HB WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                      How the HB roles factors into the pecking order will be interesting to track over the years. Typically, with the flexbone offense its #3 on the pecking order. However, with Napier's past offenses and just in general modern-day style run heavy offenses its #1. As we have said this isn't just a flexbone offense even though it's the #1 formation we plan to run. This year we see it being pretty balanced and ideally be versatile enough to move things around depending on personal.

                      Archetype = Power Back
                      The most obvious one that we will do

                      Top 3 Skills = Break Tackle, Trucking, Acceleration
                      The easy guess is we want trucking and break tackle as the main things we look for. With a lot of up the middle runs we want to be able to convert those key 3rd and shorts and keep the chains moving. Another thing is in the open field on option plays we want to able to break the tackle of DB's and LB's for the long run.

                      We didn't list speed in the top 3 instead we are looking for acceleration. We think acceleration gives us some advantages over just straight-line speed with things like getting to top speed and movement. We aren't just going to ignore speed and 90's is plenty for us if its a power back or 85 for the first few years.

                      Top Ability - Downhill
                      They are a few we like, but have to be pick downhill and the ability to break more tackles

                      Ideal Modern Day HB = UGA Roderick Robinson
                      A name not many know yet as he just a true sophomore, but will explode this year having only little bit of playing time last year. His ratings will obviously be much better in 3 years which is scary. Roderick is a 6'0 240-pound HB with 94 trucking being his calling card which puts him top 5 in the game. He adds in 82 strength and 88 break tackle to complete the power back cycle. His 88 carry and 91 stiff arm are impressive for a young back. He isn't just a power back with 92 straight line speed which is plenty fast enough for a power back. He is hampered a bit by mid 80's in the other 3 speed ratings. We won't get to use him in this universe with our transfer portal rules, but a 99.9% chance if had him we win the Heisman.

                        FB & B Back WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                        After much thought we have officially decided to divide up our FB's into two roles. We have the B back which will play the FB spot in the flexbone and will also double as a power back on the depth chart. You will see this position play as a HB in certain formations like power I, Pistol, strong I. Probably will also see them in the split T FB spot as well

                        The FB will be your traditional block 1st guy who doesn't carry the ball much. We use a blocking FB on majority of our formation like I form, pistol, strong I, Power I etc. We are thinking it's probably easier to start this position officially then use sub packages for the B back.

                        Archetype
                        B Back = Athlete Power Back
                        FB = Blocking

                        After much thought (testing) we have a much clear picture of the archetypes we want for our two FB spots. We think the athlete power back is what we need to take our offense to the next level. This guy typically comes in 220 lbs or so with 4.5ish speed and strength. The FB spot we want your typical blocking guy.

                        Top 3 Skills
                        FB = run block, lead block, run block power
                        B Back = speed, acceleration, break tackle

                        Top Ability
                        FB = Second Level
                        B Back = Team Player (mental)

                        With the FB spot we want the ability to get to the extra level and help us spring those big long runs. The B back it gets a little more complicated as we are still thinking if want this position to be officially a FB or HB. The HB spot comes with some better abilities, but makes it complicated to get on the field. For now we will go with a mental ability as we don't love any of the physical ones for that position. The team player gives some boost for playing other positions with "clearhead" being a close 2nd.

                        Ideal Modern Day FB
                        B Back = Kayne Udoh (Army)
                        FB = Max Bredeson (Michigan)

                        They are a few options for B back with Air Force Dyland Carson a excellent option as well. Since it's close we go with our guy Udoh tied for the fastest speed (86) in the game. His 89 acceleration, 87 ball carry vision, and 89 carry are right at the top as well. He doesn't have super elite break tackle and trucking still low 80's is good and he is only a sophomore. A top-notch player for the position that we will see if he can top 1,000 yards.

                        Bredeson for Michigan the best run blocker and lead blocker in the game. So your classic FB type guy and coming in at 240 lbs

                          Wildcat Will Be Key Factor In Powerbone

                          We talked about our breakdown of the Powerbone offense and now we are going to dig a little deeper into one formation that hasn't got much attention the Wildcat.

                          When you think of retro formations most go to stuff like Flexbone. While the Wildcat is a more modern formation compared to the flexbone it gained popularity around 2008 with the Miami Dolphins. We said at the time we wasn't sure how we would use it, but like its potential. After running it in fall practice we are here to report that it will be a key part of the offense.

                          While we say Key, It will still be a niche formation so we could see using it 5 times or so per game. It's a power run first type of offense, so it fits into our scheme. What sets it apart is that we can run it with both QB's, HB, or WR's. The plan is to have a fast WR play the QB role so year 1 it will be Noah Short (94 speed). He is a playmaker and we want to get the ball in his hands. If it works as good as we think we could maybe even run it 10 times a game. Because we have several versions of it in the playbook. We think this formation could secretly take this offense even higher than we expected and cause us to keep a player on the roster just to run it.

                          If you want to see a video recap of how the Wildcat works and the plays it has to offer check out the video below

                          Editors Note - My 1st team builder team finally showed up so a positive sign on finally getting this started.

                            The TE position isn't going to be a flashy one in this offense. The primary job will be to block so it's kind of like the FB position. It's a position that we will look to possible move players over to other positions so we will keep a tab on the "team player" ability. You could see the athletic TE's moved to WR and you could see the backup's play some FB if injuries happen. With the amount of 8 and 9 man boxes we will face we do think the right speed/receiving TE could potential do some damage in the passing game

                            TE WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                            Archetype = Blocking
                            The main thing we are looking for is blocking we are a heavy run first team. The blocking is what we will look for first and its not really close. We think our offense by default will create some possibilities to catch some passes. But if you want to be our #1 TE unless you must be able to block

                            Top 3 Skills = Run Blocking, Size, Catch
                            We talked about run blocking just above so let's move on to size. We think a bigger TE helps with blocking in a lot of cases and just gives our QB a bigger target to look for. It also just fits into the whole power thing we have going on here. Whenever we pass we aren't looking for YAC from the position just make the catch and keep the chains moving.

                            Top Ability - Outside Shield
                            The mental ability of “Team player” allowing improved ability to play out of position is a close 2nd and could pass it up when we do this list In a few years. But “outside shield” with improved ability on outside runs is key. Most of our TE’s play in formations outside of the flex and they always have outside runs in them.

                            Ideally Modern Day TE = Mason Tharp (Texas Tech)
                            Mason is a rare breed and if we ever see a player like him In recrut9ng we are maxing out the hours to get him. A massive 6’9 and 270 pound basically tied for the best run blocker in the game with the most run block power. He also has 85 strength with 3rd highest trucking. His straight line speed at 77 with 80 acceleration isn’t too bad with decent catch ratings. As we said we are a sucker for size and 6’9 270 at the position would make us very happy to land that

                              Re: Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense (CFB25)

                              If there is one position we haven't exactly settled on the type of player we want and is subject to change the most its WR. A lot of people in this type of offense will convert TE over to WR for the run blocking. We may end up doing that and in general we will look for that type of WR first. We do want at least one fast WR on the team that to play the wildcat QB, run the ball in our one WR option play and be a KR. We will see a lot of single coverage at WR so we do want the ability to take advantage of that with the right WR.

                              WR WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                              Archetype = Physical
                              We find the physical WR to be the most likely to have the run blocking we want and typically they are over 6 foot. We like always will keep our eye on the 6'5ish possession guys under Athletes position. I would for the first few years look for our WR's to be 6'1 to 6'4 with 87 speed and run blocking in the 50's. We think we can get what we want from the Physical WR's and Athletes without having to go to crazy with position changes

                              Top 3 Skills = Run Blocking, Size, Catch
                              We ended up going with the same things as we did for TE here run blocking, size and catch. Basically for the same reasons as the WR isn't a key part to our offense. We want them to help out the run game blocking and just make the catch and move the chains.

                              Top Ability - Sure Hands
                              We don't throw it a lot so when we do we don't want it being dropped

                              Ideally Modern Day WR = Tetairoa Mcmillan
                              If I'm being honest its Nyck Harbor because a 6'5 245 pound WR with 99 speed is what we all want. I've avoided going chalk on these, but I will for this one with Mcmillan. At 6'5 210 pounds is the best WR in the game and is near maxed out in all 3 catch ratings. His 83 strength and 65 run blocking is best in the game making him great for our offense. He tops it off with 90ish speed and 97 mid route running.

                                We close this series out since we will not be doing defense until we get a head coaching job. We are grouping the OL together as we are looking at the same thing for the 3 positions. We have said it before OL is our #1 priority for the first few years both in recruiting and development. We think that's how you build the foundation of your team. While the OT/OG spots are pretty changeable that's not typically the case with C's. Since we need to sign 10 OL's the first class we have our work cut out for us.

                                OL WHAT WE LOOK FOR

                                Archetype = Power
                                Another no brainer as it's in the name of our offense when it comes to our initial 35 man recruiting board. If you aren't a power type player you will not be on our board. We have seen some "agile" players have the strength we like, but we will save those guys for later in the year.

                                Top 3 Skills = Strength, Run Blocking, Run Block Power
                                We listed 3 skills here, but when you are talking about 2* guys its really just one thing we look for. The reason being the run block and run block power will need to time to develop. Thats why strength is pretty much the only thing we are looking at when going after a players. The magic # we want to hit is 85 that way with development hopefully we can get that up to mid 90's. The bare minimum we want is 80. With the one exception being the jumbo athletes that could end up playing OL over DL.

                                Top Ability - Option Shield
                                Running the option is our bread and butter so ideally all 5 starters have this

                                Ideally Modern Day OL

                                OT = Nyier Daniels (UGA)

                                A massive true freshman at 6'8 365 pounds with 94 strength. He isn't the most highly rated but he would be given a few years to develop. You don't find that combo of size and strength very often with solid run blocking as a true freshman.

                                OG = Luke Kandra (Cincy)
                                At 6'4 323 pounds is tied for the strongest OG in the game with 97 strength. His 90-run block and 85 power with 7 abilities would be perfect in our offense

                                OC = Bryce Foster (Kansas)
                                Has the size at 6'5 and 330 pounds so bigger than your typical C. He is the strongest OL with 98 and is only a junior. They are OL with higher RBK a the moment still his 85 is top 10 range. His lack of abilities hurt him some, but I think we could get him a few by his senior year.
