        Week 15

The Dallas Cowboys got exactly what they were bargaining for, a competitive game against the pesky Panthers who have been upsetting contenders all year long, we’ll add the Cowboys to their list of upset victims with a resounding 28-16 victory that improved their record to 7-7 and dropped the Cowboys record to 10-4. The Panthers led 7-3 at halftime on the strength of a first quarter touchdown drive of 60 yards on 8 plays which ended on a 4 yard run by Jonathan Brooks. The Panthers would extend their lead to 14-3 after driving 82 yards on 9 plays ending with a Bryce Young 31 yard touchdown pass to Xavier Legette. Dallas would pull to within 14-9 on their ensuing possession after driving 70 yards in 9 plays capped off by a one yard touchdown run by Rico Dowdle, the 2 point attempt failed. The Panthers opened up the scoring in the fourth quarter after driving 82 yards on 7 plays ending with Bryce Young’s second touchdown pass to Xavier Legette this time for 42 yards making the score 21-9. The Cowboys would again cut the deficit on a 4 play 82 yard drive ending with a Dak Prescott 32 yard touchdown pass to Peyton Hendershot making the score 21-16. The Cowboys were unable to muster anymore points after that. The Panthers put the game away with a late 48 yard touchdown run by Chuba Hubbard. The Cowboys gained 447 yards of offense but were held in check for most of the game by Carolina’s defense, it was led by Dak Prescott who completed 24 of 45 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception Trey Lance came into the game temporarily as Prescott went out with leg cramps he completed 7 of 11 passes with one interception, Rico Dowdle rushed 19 times for 71 yards and a touchdown, C.D. Lamb added 10 receptions for 120 yards passing the one thousand yard threshold, the defense played adequately but failed to record a turnover for the second consecutive week. Bryce Young completed 24 of 39 passes with 2 touchdowns, both Chuba Hubbard and Jonathan Brooks paced an effective running game rushing for 78 and 65 yards respectively and a touchdown apiece, Xavier Legette torched the Dallas secondary for 7 receptions 111 yards and 2 touchdowns, Shaq Thompson led the defense with 13 total tackles, Josey Jewell and Jadeveon Clowney added an interception each. The Panthers are still in contention for the NFC South crown but even if they fail to qualify for the playoffs the future in Carolina is bright. Micah Parsons was lost until at least the second round of the playoffs with a lingering shoulder injury which has kept him sidelined for most of the season. The Cowboys will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who fell to the Los Angeles Chargers 17-9 next Sunday night at AT&T Stadium.
