Same. That was an awesome feature to have. You could also create your stories and post pictures from your games as well.

      Re: CFB25 Playbook Tool

This is far from the finished version, but it is what I am working with with the redesign of the tool.

      https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

It doesn't look like the format plays well with google sheets, at least the pictures don't. That hopefully corrects itself if you download the tool and open it up in excel locally.

I still have plenty of work left to do implementing things into the tool and also making it look more aesthetically pleasing. Still, I figured I'd share what I have so far to this point for you guys that are interested to look at and potentially give feedback on.

If the link is broken, just let me know, but I think it should be sharing fine. You can also ignore the outline tab it likely starts you on. That's for me to keep track of what I aim to do and still need to do.

        Re: CFB25 Playbook Tool

I'm torn between creating my own custom playbook and using a stock playbook. I'd like to use a custom playbook because I can tailor it to exactly how I want to run my offense (compressed sets like bunch, tight and deuce close out of the gun, pistol and some under center). Looking through the playbooks I found some possible ones like Florida. But I don't want to feel like I'm cheesing the cpu because the cpu only uses stock playbooks. What are you guys' thoughts on this?

This is a thread about custom playbooks so odds are about all of us in here are going to be fine with using custom playbooks vs the CPU.

If you're making a playbook that's full of overpowered plays, then I think that is cheesy. If you're trying to create a realistic scheme that fits a vision you have, I don't see why it would be an issue.

I really like the general idea of the set up here.

I change I might suggest is the high install cost of Power-read and Zone-read if I already have the standard Power and Zone runs installed. If I already have Power run concept installed for 6 points, I'm not sure if should cost another 7 points to install Power-read.

Similarly if I already have an Inside Zone run installed, then not sure about it costing another 6 points to install Split Zone.

Or was your idea with the "Links" column to somehow combine these points? Like if I spend 6 points to install Zone Read then I don't need to also spend the 3 points on Inside zone?

              Correct.

I have notes setup on many of the cells to try and help reduce confusion with things like that. For example, here is what I have for now on the Links cell.

You and I were on the same page with Inside Zone and Split Zone.

I'm running into an issue where it isn't discounting the prices when I've selected the correct link. I'm using sheets though and not excel, so I'm wondering if that could be why.

That isn't implemented yet. Aiming to have it done sometime this weekend and to have a V1 of this tool out before early access starts if I can.

Just wanted to share the general setup of the tool to this point. It shouldn't be too much work to get a lot of the remaining work done. It isn't an overly complex book, I just haven't had the time to sit down and really nail it out yet.

                    Re: CFB25 Playbook Tool

Actually just went ahead and added the discounts for linked items. Didn't take but a minute to do. Right now it's just a flat 1 point discount if you have at least 1 linked concept. The original link should have the updated file in it.

So, Inside Zone is 3 hours, Split is 6. If you have Inside Zone, Split's cost goes down to 5. If you add Split at 5, it actually takes down Inside Zone's cost down to 2, so together they only cost 7 instead of 9. You're getting the discount on both.

It doesn't continuously stack, however. If you then add Zone Read which has a standard cost of 6, you're going to get the discounted cost of 5 hours for it, but Inside and Split are not going to go down another 1 hour.

Not sure if it is the best way to go about it or not. I'm sure I could get more complicated with it and have a formula with more calculations going on, but for simplicity's sake at this point that is how I did it. Each concept that has a link sees its cost decrease by 1 and no more than 1 no matter how many links you have included within the scheme. It still adds up. If you go with Inside, Split, Zone Read, and Triple Option, that's still 4 hours of time you're saving having all those linked concepts.

I thought about instead of decreasing costs by 1 I could simply make the costs decrease by 50% for linked concepts, but that would mean things like Triple Option become a cost of 5 which I think is far too cheap for what is arguably the most complex item on the list and should remain expensive to implement even when you have other linked concepts.

I'm open for any feedback on it, though.

Another thing I am doing for V1 at this point is keeping the RPO tags simplified. I know we had discussed before potentially making it modular and having run concepts that could have RPOs tagged onto them, but that would complicate the spreadsheet too much, at least with the way I was envisioning it. Instead, RPOs are split by pre-snap, 1st level, and 2nd level reads as you can see in the sheet. If you simply want to add a tag for a pre-snap alert on your base run plays, you can just add the pre-snap RPO concept into your scheme for the cheap cost of 2. Those are simple to add and I think it makes more sense to keep it general anyways because you could easily install the type of alert you want to run and then tag it onto a variety of run plays without needing to install it on each run concept individually.

Whether you're running inside our outside zone won't change how to execute a backside slant, for example. The tag will remain the same as will the pre-snap read.

Like I've said countless times, I don't expect my own ideas to be the most optimal way to attack anything, though, so feel free to offer any feedback you have. Anyways, this update gives discounted costs now. Let me know if it doesn't show for you.
