    No pass for sluggish menu

If Madden 26 still have that sluggish menu
I don't care what they put in the game
Navigate so slow in the menu makes me wanna throw the game Away

    College doesn't have this problem
    No excuses this time
    EA show some pride!

That will probably happen the more they migrate away from APT-based menus and move to more IBX/panelmenu stuff or even EBX/RIME based menus like they do for some things already. They've made an effort to migrate away from legacy formats like APT over the years (M25 was a pretty big example of this even if most people didn't notice, especially console players), so it could happen.

I hate when games do this. It was a big complaint of mine when MLB the Show 24 was noticeably slower than 23 in the menus.

As for Madden, 25 is very frustrating. It's especially frustrating as I gave MUT a shot this year for the first time since M19. We don't want flashy animations and have to wait for them every time opening a pack, or in the normal game every time we click on a player to edit, or a roster, or a playbook. We want quick, snappy menus that respond instantly to user input. Even if you know where something is that you want to edit, you can't even press RB twice to get there and bypass the slow loading of the panel that I don't even need to see right now. This is one of the reasons I play any sports games on PC that I can. With the editors available it saves so much time to begin with even if the menus were snappy. But when you give us the laggy menus of current Madden, it's very frustrating and unnecessarily time consuming.

I watched that video. I get the logic behind his main argument. He's basically saying that since this is a "contract year" for EA's exclusivity, EA is going to go harder than they normally do to try and impress players and the NFL, both of whom aren't particularly happy with EA at the moment. So even if the game is a better improvement than usually, a big sale boon for them would likely mean the NFL is happy again and renews exclusivity. He's saying we should hold off buying in hopes that Madden sales remain stagnant and maybe lose to CFB again, which will cause the NFL to drop exclusivity. I don't know that I see this as a likely scenario; I just assume the NFL will renew it at some point anyways, but who knows.

I'm still undecided at this point on both games, but I'd put my probability of buying CFB 26 at about 90%. Given what I've seen so far, and especially if CFB sports the same weather upgrades as Madden, CFB 26 is a sure buy for me assuming they don't remove any of the player editing stuff that I and others advocated for and got patched into last year's game.

As for Madden, I'm 50/50. I want to buy it, but this would be the first year I've ever bought college and NFL games in back to back years if I did. I can afford it, I just don't like spending money for a mediocre product or a small incremental upgrade. Beyond that, even if Madden is actually good, if more people held off buying and this actually did get NFL to drop exclusivity, that would be the absolute best thing for football gamers. I just don't know how likely that is.

Here, I'll save you a click. It's 25 minutes of "This sounds promising. If it doesn't work, EA sucks. If it does work, EA sucks for not adding it sooner."

                  His retrospectives aren't bad though.

And this is why I never take these guys who I call "full-time critics" too seriously.

According to everyone, I'm supposed to hate Madden 25 yet I have nearly 500 hours on it and it's one of my favorites.

Glad someone posted this. Was literally just on my mind on how I hope the menus in general and franchise mode are seriously revamped. Smoother, faster, aesthetically better and more immersive. Heck I found the Madden 12/13 menus better than what they have now. Make them more vibrant and immersive. The news section is really weak and poor, I want to see league news, images from games on the main menu of franchise and not have to scroll across to see some repetitive uninspiring tweets. Hopefully with them claiming to have revamped presentation this year this applies to outside of games too.
