Re: APF 2K8 PC Editor Bugs/Comments/Requests Thread
Very cool! I'm gonna try it out and see if I can get my 1979 Chargers uniform (replacing the Iron Men) right by using the editor instead of just trying to copy and paste in hex.Comment

KINGJAVO,New version released...
http://www.kingjavo.com/APF2K8/Editor
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! I can't wait to create players that should be in. Favre, Bradshaw, Urlacher, Moss, T.O, Tebow.
Will it ever be possible to move players from one team to another within the editor?Last edited by martinez4723; 02-15-2015, 07:35 PM.Comment

Not sure. I've spent some time trying to figure that out, but no luck so far. Maybe down the road.Comment

Re: APF 2K8 PC Editor Bugs/Comments/Requests Thread
After messing around with the new uniform feature in the editor, it doesn't look like that's the case. I took another file and created the 1979 Chargers uniform in the game the exact way I wanted it to look (numbers on the sleeve and not on the shoulder) and uploaded it into the database in the editor under "1979 Chargers". I then closed out that file and opened my classic roster file. I went to the 1979 Chargers team (positioned where the Iron Men used to be ie. numbers on the shoulders) and was about to change the uniform when I noticed that it already said "1979 Chargers". Just in case I was mistaken, I then clicked to another uniform and then back to "1979 Chargers" and opened up the file in the game. Nothing had changed (numbers still on shoulder and not on sleeves). The editor treated my correct uploaded 1979 Chargers uniform and the old one as exactly the same. I did this with several other teams with the same effect.
The positioning of the numbers on sleeves or shoulders, the directionality of logo on the helmet, and whether the logo is on the helmet or not is not in the normal uniform/logo code. Saving a created uniform over a CPU team's will not change those things. It must be somewhere else within the code/file because what the CPU team has in those areas triumphs over anything pasted onto it by the understood conventional means of copying and pasting uniforms and logos.Comment

The uniform values I'm working with are the ones identified in the hex for color palette and logo sections. I didn't hunt down those pieces you mention in bold because I assumed they were included.
Btw, what examples do you have of directionality of the logo on a helmet and no logo on a helmet? Did you see those somewhere?
I can do some research and let you know if I find them.Last edited by KingJavo; 02-16-2015, 02:56 PM.Comment

I thought I listed those problems when you were first starting work on the editor but I guess I wasn't very clear about exactly what I was referring to. I know the info is definitely within the file to change those things (number and logo positioning) but not exactly sure where they are.The uniform values I'm working with are the ones identified in the hex for color palette and logo sections. Outside of the sleeve/shoulder number/logo issue, there is the logo on the helmet issues. Say you are wanting to give a CPU team a Cleveland Browns uniform (which doesn't have a logo on the helmet), the CPU will end up having a logo on the helmet. There is also the case if your created team logo is a letter (such as using the "G" for the Packers helmet) and you copy it to a CPU team, the logo will be backwards on one side of the helmet and correct on the other (ie mirror images). I believe this is left over from the previous CPU logo, which some mirror from one side of the helmet to the other. I was able to once get rid of the logo from one side of the helmet via hex (trying to make correct Steelers style helmet) but I can't remember exactly what and where I changed things.
These issues along with the following issues have a 99% chance of being in the file somewhere with pointers but I'm not sure where:
- Playbooks (there are probably pointers which point to certain CPU playbooks and could be changed to user created playbooks not just the standard one that you get when creating a new team)
- The Run-Pass Ratios for the CPU teams (for offline players like me, it would be great to be able to determine how often the CPU teams will run and pass to make it more sim)...right now I've just been matching up teams according to what the CPU teams do (run or pass more)Last edited by theDude47; 02-16-2015, 08:27 PM.Comment

Re: APF 2K8 PC Editor Bugs/Comments/Requests Thread
When I load my custom Chiefs ratesports file into the editor, the names get wiped...meaning the name fields for all the players on the roster are blank. Any idea what could be causing this?
Was also curious if there was a way to edit the coaches' appearance?
Thanks!Comment

Re: APF 2K8 PC Editor Bugs/Comments/Requests Thread
Awesome work.
Is there a 2014-2015 Roster out there?
I'm trying to add Zach Mettenberger but says his name isn't found. Am I missing how to add any name?Comment
