I have never played a sports video game without bugs. But are those buge enough to make you not like the game? that depends on the person. Last year. A Loooott of people were immediately turned off by the dropped passes and that is really undterstandable.

I don't like madden because of the gameplay. Not the so-called glitches.

This is why I like head to head play the best. Only then you dont have to solely rely on the CPU to give you a competitive game.

    my 2 cents.

Madden is (suppose) to be King. Which means flawless, the best, the all mighty. It's obviously not.

ESPN has things that are so great, we overlook the little bugs. Madden has had years and years to fix things and never do. As long as Sega knows about an issue, it will be fixed.

Dang... I'm starting to sound bad. I've always loved Madden, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever even buy it again. Don't call me an ESPN [censored you naughty boy] just yet. Well for football that is.

The sad thing is...guys are obviously going out of their way to try and find "potentially serious, serious" problems with ESPNFL and haven't done so yet and likely won't. I think it is a credit to how tight the game actually is.

Also, I played Madden and its Not a "Bad" game but compared to ESPN it is. It simply doesn't stack up to ESPN's gameplay at all.

The other thing is, everybody seems to defend Madden with the "outsells it 10 to 1". ESPN definitely becomes the underdog, while Madden, if the claim is to be taken seriously, is supposed to be a 10 to 1 better game (using the context that the individuals stating the sales numbers usually give, Madden's outselling Sega's game means that Madden is just "that much better"). A supposedly dominant game due to its commercial success probably has less room for error than the commercial underdogs who, according to the same people, will "never be on Madden's level".

I don't necessarily agree or disagree, but that is probably a large part of the equation. You hear the argument all the time (about sales), which is of course ludicrous, but the same mentality probably goes into the "status of bugs" in both games.
