It is my understanding that Microsoft has to do QC on everything that is released in terms of patches and rosters updates and stuff like that because they have to ensure it works on their servers. Sony does not have the same requirements because each game producer uses their own servers to handle their games. That is why the roster are out for PS2 already.

Microsoft is not out to screw the world...people need to get over that fact and stop freaking out everytime they smell something fishy...geez!

I dont think it is. May be a lot of developers are biased towards PS2 and therefore work harder to have extras for it. Xbox (the system I own and love) gets the leftovers. It's all about money these days. Who gets the most sales? Sony? Well then we give them more!

      Sad...

So basically what your saying is a system that takes graphical capabilities to next level has to play second fiddle? You haven't even touched on the fact that online updates are available for Fever but not ESPN. Your theory would make some sense if I was told that it is VC/Sega that is coming up short in regards to update capability for the Xbox. MS's history makes it VERY hard for me to believe that.

Yeah ok chief. That would be fine if this was year one. This is year two my friend of online gaming on the Xbox. They had an entire year to work out the kinks. By the way, I could be mistaken but can't you use online updates for games like Ghost Recon and Wolfenstien?

NJskillz trust me when I say this...you WANT microsoft to have one central place for all online gaming to happen. It ensures a consistant user experience in terms of game performance. It means that all games should play just as well on line as others. Yeah Microsoft makes more money on the deal but in the END the customer wins.

no I was not saying it is a flawed process where they still have to work out the kinks. Instead, Microsoft has to check all developers work to ensure it meets their standards in terms of performance and compatibility. It is all about making sure everything works like it is supposed to.
