    You need to learn timing of patterns.

    A great way to practice this is to call a 4 Wide set (2 on each side) and run both of the slot guys on quick posts to the middle of the field.

    Now, watch the LBs when you snap the ball. Most likely one will key the RB or blitz. Throw to the receiver on his side of the field as soon as you finish your 3 step drop. This will really help you to learn the timing of routes and when to release the ball.

      I find that a proper punishment for blitz happy LBs is the Split spread quick slant. Hit the WR after three steps. Only do this if you have a strong receiver and make sure you press Y when the saftey makes the hit..otherwise you will fumble

        I find that a proper punishment for blitz happy LBs is the Split spread quick slant. Hit the WR after three steps. Only do this if you have a strong receiver and make sure you press Y when the saftey makes the hit..otherwise you will fumble
