    Re: ESPN Play Action

I don't like Madden's. Not because of the camera, but the thing is supposed to make you believe that, like they make the user-cursor under the RB when the playaction happens, making it believe that he has the ball.

I don't really like it like that. Sometimes the camera shouldn't even be faked out. But then I think what would be cool is if there are times that they think it's a PA, and then they actually hand it off, so the camera is fooled that way. I think the game should have that.

This is one of the things that Tecmo Super Bowl did beautifully!!!

What it did there was remove all user-controlled identifiers so no one had a clue who had the ball. The camera wouldn't move or anything; you just had to guess. LOVED IT!! After about a second or two, the cursor would pop up with who had the ball.

With NCAA/Madden, it's not a play fake, it's a camera-deception! The cursor actually CHANGES so that it looks like the running back has the ball, but that's not the case. 99% of the time, I smoke the RB and the QB still has the ball, EVEN THOUGH THE GAME TOLD ME THE RB HAD THE BALL!!!

In ESPN, the play-action looks beautiful, and want it to stay the way it is (don't zoom in/out with the camera). Just remove the cursor underneath the players for an instant and wait to put up the passing icons. Since the offense knows what's going on, they won't be confused, but the defense will have to think for just a second until all the identifying marks reappear!
