I'm not a fan of the ejection. I hate that rule in College. But that's definitely a penalty regardless.

Try to think about it like this. You could knock a player out knowing you can keep playing for a "hitting a defenseless player". That player that gets knocked out. Could miss games if he can't recover. While that defender who knocked him out. Will play next week and do it to another player.

Could miss games if he can't recover. While that defender who knocked him out. Will play next week and do it to another player. They obviously lied about his injury. He was knocked out.

True. I get that. But the real problem lies in the referees. You can't trust them to make that call. Because they lack common sense.

I've seen too many times a guy get ejected for a good hit. He was a fraction of a second late or he lead with his helmet and clipped him. He tried to make a football play and got tossed. It wasn't intentional.

If we lived in a perfect world refs could discern the difference between when a guy makes a blatant dirty hit compared to a football play.

But we don't. And we still can't even get a Roughing the passer call right. So I have no confidence in the zebras getting it right.

Chargers did the same with Mahomes earlier. Scored way too early. But luckily survived. Crazy to me teams poor clock management skills at this level.
