They broke icon passing. I posted it on the EA Forum. There is no zip to the passes. They get intercepted every time. Whatever they did to “fix” the icon passing system, broke it.

I'm not seeing it, but that don't mean there isn't a problem. I made an edit as you quoted me that said this

Now all i gotta do is just barely touch another player and it counts as a hit. i keep trying to fiddle with hit power, i set it at 10 on all star and cpu still hitting me almost 20 times a period. i have attributes all the way up, it slows down game some. but it’s still bad

no puck scrums now? how about hit wise. when i first got this game on release it was playing so good, why do they do this every year? starts off good then slowly gets worse

I’ll have to play more but in the short time with the latest patch I didn’t have many. Just too much wide open play. Saw more breakaways in the 2 games than I had the prior 15-20. Even got called for a penalty shot for the first time in forever.

For icon passing, are you guys tapping the button or holding it? If you want harder icon passes, I believe you have to hold he button longer (similar to regular passing).

As for hitting, the hitting power should be 25 or less. I forget my other hitting sliders but I’m getting 25-30 or so hits per team.

I'm not seeing any issues that didn't already exist with icon passing. My buddy and I played some CHEL last night and I was ripping icon passes to him with my Playmaker, hard auto sauce passes, hard regular passes, all again from icon. The only issues are the soft ones when they don't make sense when your kind of close to one another, me below the goal line trying to hit him wide open in the slot, soft icon pass. This one has been there since beta/launch.

Holding doesn’t work anymore for Icon harder passes. If you hold the button now, it saucers a slow pass.

You have to change the sliders yourself. I then save it as a preset "Full Sim"

I'll be the first in line to complain about this game and the hitting etc. But I'm not seeing it at all. So odd that it seems to be a problem just on All Star? I play on Superstar..

i had an awesome game after the update. I thought it played really well. For those complaining there are too many hits, your hitting power is probably too high, i play with it on 5 and it feels the most realistic. I also play on all star and it's great.

Just figured out why I'm possibly not seeing the issues with icon passing. I noticed that during the beta and early on launch wise something was up with the passing speed. I switched "Manual Passing" to "Off" under the controller settings.

That for sure explains it and I've had it off for so long that I forgot that I even did it until just now when I was wondering why I haven't seen any issues.. Well, that might be why. So now the "speed" of the pass is determined by the game itself and the distance you are from the player you are passing the puck to and also determined if sauce gets added if a CPU player is in the way etc.

So maybe until the problem gets fixed, try playing with manual passing off. I'll say this, if it hasn't been fixed by now, then man I don't think it will be.

Agreed. The game is playing very very well. They even fixed the flipping of the puck out of the zone. Prior to the update, flipping the puck was dialed back. It would always be caught at the blue line. I just flipped a puck from behind my net to Center on the PK…. Nice little change there as well. Penalty’s are back as well.

Only issue for me is Icon passing.

Wow eh….. This could be the issue and the solution. There was a comment left in the EA Forum about Manual passing being turned off and the speed issue goes away. EA did reply to that message as well.

I have never used Auto passing i don’t think. Going to have to give it a go.

Another fun one in my Franchise post patch. 4-3 win in OT/Shootout. Shootout went 4 rounds, I scored twice and the Kings once.

I didn’t change the holding penalty slider and had zero issues with it this game. I took two tripping penalties in the 1st and that was it.
