    is Manual Passing broken?

The first thing I do when I pickup an NHL game is adjust the sliders to a sim/hardcore style. This includes manual passing with assist at zero. Yesterday when I played my first few games, manual passing seemed to be working great. I could hold R2 and I would get a harder, crisper pass. I could tap R2 and get a soft finesse pass.

But today it seems to have reverted right back to the ways of NHL 16, where holding the R2 button didn't seem to power up your passes at all. In fact the passes where I hold R2 seem to be passing almost softer than the normal passes. Whats happening here? I was so excited to see that the sliders were more in depth to include minimum/maximum pass speeds.. but even with max pass speed at 90, holding R2 isn't powering up my passes. It forces me into using saucer passes all the time - because for some reason saucer passes have been true manual since last year, but standard R2 passes have not been true manual.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
