Re: The realignment cometh
I'm obviously happy.
I wonder what tomb Fehr's been hanging out in since the lockout. I'm sure his contract allows him the finest sarcophagus money can buy.Comment

Re: The realignment cometh
I don't really like the uneven conferences, but it worked for baseball... they also they got rid of it. 4 playoff teams out of 14/16 isn't as big a deal as 8 out of 14/16. What they should do is mix and match. Put a West and East division together and you play everyone in the other divisions equally so there is no issue.
Also don't like splitting Detroit up from Chicago and St. Louis. I know why they did it and Detroit vs. Toronto/Montreal/Boston makes up for it. Also think the Florida teams are so out of place with the Northeast division and Detroit. Should have kept them with Carolina at least, but that was always going to be a problem.
Would have preferred all the Western Canadian teams in the same division. I know why they weren't, but Phoenix with Dallas and Colorado and Winnipeg with VAN, CGY, and EDM I would have liked to see.
If Phoenix winds up in the Eastern time zone, well this all goes to hell because they have the same problem as before and Detroit will just go back where they came from and end up with Chicago, Colorado will get shuffled to the more West division and Phoenix will replace Detroit.Last edited by Redacted01; 03-08-2013, 02:03 PM.Comment

Re: The realignment cometh
I think it's becoming pretty likely that Phoenix is moving to Seattle.
As for the Florida teams. Cry me a river. No sympathy from me for that travel added within their time zone.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-08-2013, 02:11 PM.Comment

Re: The realignment cometh
Wings in the East, everything else is fine print details to me...no more blood-feud w/ the Blackhawks, but now that I'm back on EST, no more staying up til all hours of the night to catch a game. And we will actually play Boston, Toronto, and NY more than once in a blue moon...Comment

Re: The realignment cometh
Why did they put the Lightning and Panthers in a division with the teams in New England/Eastern Canada/Red Wings. That's the best they could come up with?NFL: Green Bay Packers
MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NBA: Denver Nuggets
NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins
NCAA: Air Force Falcons, Penn State Nittany LionsComment

Re: The realignment cometh
Oh well, Carolina better make the playoffs now, because they might not for awhile in this new division.

Re: The realignment cometh
Where else would you have put them exactly? There wasn't really a better choice. I would have preferred Carolina stay with the Florida teams at least, but you have to put Pittsburgh, Philly, NYR, NYI, and NJ together. Washington just logically fits in with those teams.
You want to keep the Northeast division together. If you put the Florida teams with the other division, Columbus, Carolina, and Detroit have to go with the Canadian teams and you still have someone kind of out of the way in Carolina. There was no way to split them down the middle (Southeast division + NY area in one division, although Philly fits in too) because then you cut the rivalries off in the Atlantic division or you end up with NY, NYI, and NYR in different divisions or something.Comment
