New Golfer With Just One Gripe about EA Tiburon's TW09...

    Hey y'all.

So Tiger Woods 09 for PS3 is the first golf game I've ever bought. I'm definitely a CASUAL user of this series, and I've been playing the EA Golf games off and on since 2004 on XBOX and PS2.

I'm definitely enjoying my purchase with Tiger Woods 09. For the most part, it's covered all of the bases a casual golf enthusiast like myself would look for in a videogame. However, I have one issue with the game that's been there for YEARS - and perhaps someone on the boards can educate me as to whether or not this is an issue at all:

Why do CPU golfers get 'stuck' when they take a bad shot? I've seen this more than a few times. If the CPU golfer hits one into the trees or bushes, instead of taking one clean shot to get them back onto the fairway the CPU player consistently tries to shoot toward the hole - stroke after stroke - even with obstacles in the way. (Like houses and trees) I breathe a sigh of relief when the CPU gets stuck - they'll waste 3 or 4 shots trying to get back into play - but that's cheap. If I win a hole, I want to earn it by shooting better - not because I ran into some error in the programming of my opponent.

I reiterate that I am a CASUAL gamer in this series, so I use default settings for everything...which means the difficulty setting is Balanced. However, is this something we should ever be seeing in the game? I remember this little bug from my first Tiger games five years ago. Does it still happen on the higher difficulty settings? Madden 09 has such a great relationship with the Tiburon developers here on OS - maybe a dev can chime in here as well? Is this something that Tiburon/EA is aware of and will it be addressed in any sort of patch?
