So I guess this game just kind of died...

Too bad, since the Masters was a nice get.

Sales are up, though, so I guess EA made the right move, getting the Masters and making the game easy peasy for the masses.

Too bad we can't get the Masters DLC for TW 11.

The ridiculous pin placements in the final rounds is what killed me. Shooting an 86 in the final round after hanging around 2-under for most of the tournament kind of done me in. I still play off and on, but it did suck the enjoyment out.

EA's joke of a 'patch' and the lack of post release support for this game have killed it for me. Really would like to enjoy this game, since there are a lot of improvements. But force feeding the caddy and no option to turn him off completely was just a bad design decision, period. The caddy makes playing this game online meaningless, and offline the game is okay until the 4th round pins strike you down eventually.

This game could have been better with more options and more post release support. But I guess EA saw the great sales and just started working on TW 13 w/o even trying to fix the issues w/ TW 12.

I don't buy enough EA sports games to know this, but should a lack of post release support really be a surprise? I remember there was a bug in FIFA World Cup 2010 where if you customized the groups, the teams that advanced past the group stages were incorrectly determined. It was a fairly egregious error, since you can only enjoy playing the same tournament so many times, and was never fixed to my knowledge.

I'm still playing. It certainly hasn't been a great year but the game is still fun. My problem is I'm stuck between tourney and tour pro difficulty. Tournament is a bit too hard, while tour pro is a touch too easy.

I don't play my career much, I mostly just play quick rounds by myself.

I still play...having fun w/career mode. 130+ rounds and still enjoying the game Officially my most-played golf game ever.

It's not perfect, but it's fun and plays pretty quickly. I enjoy getting a round in most mornings before I go to work.

Re: So I guess this game just kind of died...

The lack of post-game release support is no big surprise to me. In TW11, EA released Cog Hill as DLC, and of course many purchased the course. But, it had a defect in that there was no pin, flagstick or even a hole on the 11th green on certain games when Hard pins were chosen as the setting. If you happen to get the no hole/no flagstick on the 11th hole, all you could do was to hit it around to take a max number of eleven so you could advance to the 12th hole. It was a fairly egregious oversight.

Many posted about it at the EA forum in multiple threads. I thought EA would have to at least stand behind their product. I thought for sure that they would have to correct the error, put the hole and flagstick in on the 11th hole and then re-release the Cog Hill DLC. But, in true EA fashion they just completely ignored the problem. They ignored all the comments and long threads in the EA forum about this missing hole at the Cog Hill DLC that people had purchased for an extra few dollars. I would have been embarrassed to have released something like that, charged extra for, and not have fixed it. But, these guys don't give a crap. They just ignored all the comments and threads for many months and never did fix it.

If they are not going to fix a smaller error like that, I never realistically thought they'd fix or make any significant fixes or patches regarding all the problems with TW12. (Hope you all enjoy the twitter feeds and comments.)

There is no money in it for EA to fix their screw ups. They'd have to devote resources to fixing things, and they wouldn't be able to charge for fixing them.

It's just a bad, bad company that won't fix or even acknowledge the defects in their product.

I popped this game in the other day, had a little bit of fun with it, but still can't get over the awful swing physics and horrible player design/animations.

As always the courses look beautiful, but those other things are hard to look over for me personally.

After not playing a while, the putting was a struggle seeing I forgot how damn sensitive it is.

Just reminded me why I got tired of it, and why it's been collecting dust on my shelf.

Biggest game killer for me is the lack of rotating majors. Tired of being stuck with Pebble Beach, St. Andrews and Atlanta Athletic year after year after year.

Next thing would be the silly pin placements on Sunday at St Andrews - the rest of them I can deal with.

If EA would have allowed gamers to replace the three other majors with DLC courses, I would still be playing career mode.
