    Favourite NASCAR game (console)

    With the release of NASCAR 08 this week, I thought it would be a good time to ask: what's your favourite console NASCAR game and why? I put "favourite" and not "best" to reflect personal tastes.

    Please note my errors: double posted NASCAR 2000, and Dirt to Daytona was PS2.

      Dirt to Daytona stands out amongst the others for me. I remember the controls being spot on, even when using the controller. It had pageantry, which EA used to put in their games, but for some reason have taken all the "fluff" out of it. It was innovative in the fact it allowed you to progress from the series to series. Also, it was for the PS2, not the PS1. Well, there is my vote! I wish exclusive licenses to create video-games never existed! However, I think EA did a better job on this years rendition. I just have to get used to the touchy controls!

          It's not on there, but I absolutly LOVED Nascar Rumble on the PS1.

              The driving model in Nascar 08 is head and shoulders above anything else that's been done before, and that's all that matters to me. I'd put Nascar Heat on XBox and Dirt to Daytona as runners up.

                      I didn't even think that needed clarification since the thread was titled (console). NR2003 is the Holy Grail of NASCAR driving models so everything else just trails behind. But on consoles, nothing close to NASCAR 08's driving model has been done before.

                              Gamefly has yet to send me NASCAR 08 so I have to omit from voting, however Dirt to Daytona is one of my favorites, but I enjoyed the Gamecube version the best.
