    Xbox 360 question

    Hi Fellas,

I have been thinking lately about maybe purchasing a xbox360 but have some questions that I hope can be cleared up. At the moment I have 2 HDMI inputs on my TV and there both being used by my PS3 and my digital cable box. I figured that If I did buy a 360 that I would just swap the one HDMI input back and forth between the ps3 and the 360, so that wouldn't be a problem. The problem I am wondering is about the audio, does the 360 have a optical cable port? because at the moment im using a optical cable from the PS3 to the surround sound. I figured if the 360 does have a optical port I could just do the same as the HDMI cable and just swap them back and forth when going between the two systems.

I hope I havent confused anybody, lol. Any help to my little problem would be great

        Thanks fellas,

I was juts loooking at the specs for the 360. Do you have to use that cable that comes with it for the video?

I thought I could just use a HDMI cable and a optical cable like I do with the PS3.

Also if I wanted to use the optical cable would I have to buy this

          Re: Xbox 360 question

It depends on your TV, but if I were setting this up with the implied limitations I'd have the PS3 and 360 connected to an HDMI switch and an optical cable coming from my TV to my surround.

No wire switching, and anything on TV is also going through the surround.

Of course, this would require your TV have an optical out... and this is all assuming you don't have the HDMI inputs on your receiver, as that'd would provide the best quality/bandwidth for video/audio.
