I agree it probably made folks selling on eBay more than it made for Nintendo itself.

I'd consider it eventually, but a SNES one might be better....and they need to have a way to add another set of games too

I'm not on Twitter, but I can guess why. I've had some thoughts floating around my head since we bought a SEGA Genesis and hooked back up the other legacy machines recently.

Its so weird, but serene just putting a game in and being able to play it without worrying about anything other than the game. No online components to depend on or be worried about. No trophies to augment how you play the game. No patches or updates to prevent you from playing right away. No masters-degree in data management. The only thing to worry about is fun and entertainment.

You read through some of these threads and there's an obvious lack of fun for the sake of fun and to be entertained. Wade through mountains of complaints, analyzing, and put-downs and you end up wondering why some people like gaming - much less invest the time and energy for it to be their primary hobby and interest.

That's definitely part of it. I've played more of this and my 3DS over the last week or so than my PS4. Burned out a little on modern gaming, DLC, patches, internet issues, etc. Just want to have fun like you said.

The other is...well, yeah, the noticeable amount of more games now on my Mini Nes

                    I just re-read this again

Man this is great post. So true. Almost every game thread has tons of complaints in them. Or issues with some dlc or some patch. Some games take hours of massaging with patches, sliders, dlc and net concerns before you even play a second of it. I've grown tired of that. And like you said. It's hindered my enjoyment of this hobby. I'm doing something about it and loving gaming again.

Is the performance the same for all the others? Like the HDMI improvements and whatnot. That's the big difference between making your own raspberry pi or something. Could see myself eventually getting this for my son, but he's not quite at the game playing point where he has focus for movies or anything like that.

All the games run the same, all use the same 4 save spots.

Already own the NES, took 5 minutes. I would have to buy and build the Pi, buy controllers, etc.

Gamestop is running a sale on NES Classic Edition accessories. They don't have the actual system, of course. Good deals on accessories for a system you don't own, tho.
