Re: NES Classic Edition
Typical. Nintendo really makes it tough to fully back them with the decisions they make.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
Glad I was able to get one.
Sucks they are doing this but I figured it would be a novelty item.

Re: NES Classic Edition
Wow. The early rumors were right. If you really really want one and willing to spend extra get on ebay while some of the prices are in the $120-130 range. Most of them reflect the discontinued news ---back over $200.
Gotta believe the fact that it has been hacked and you can add hundreds of games and from multiple consoles had something to do with the decision (which was the ONLY reason I could justify paying double MSRP on ebay)Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
This actually makes me mad. I purposefully didn't buy one in the holiday season because I have played them all in my youth, and figured there would be a lot of families with young kids who would enjoy this. I was waiting figuring I'd just buy it in a few months. Big mistake apparently.
Only way they can make this ok is to put all the games on the virtual console on switch, and make it cheaper, much cheaper."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

NES Classic Edition
I don't know. It's an interesting theory but using this logic you would have to think why even bother making it in the first place? They have to know anyone who wants to can already have all these games on a computer using emulators.
It's probably just a production issue and they can recoup the income through VC eventually. Bottom line is they are once again screwing over their customers. The timing is questionable too. Almost like they released this thing when they did to get Nintendo back into people's minds before switch launch and after the Wii U debacle. Now that their new product is out they have no reason to push this thing. I too was just waiting for them to make enough of these things to meet demand and instead of trying they can it totally. It's embarrassing.
I mean they hyped this thing for longer than it existed. Bad look.Last edited by ricky24; 04-13-2017, 05:45 PM.Comment

You probably hit on the bigger reason, they used it as free PR for the Switch and their virtual console is in the works.
Never seen anything like it. You find something the people want and then discontinue it. Gotta be a financial reason(s) behind the move.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
I disagree. These units were only to be sold in November so i'd say Nintendo looked out for their fans by extending a limited release. Companies like Nike have a limited release for one day and you never see the product again.I don't know. LOL maybe if they announced that. They never made any mention of a limited release EVER. That is extremely flawed logic.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
So Nintendo is going to discontinue the NES Classic at the end of the month. So stupid and short sighted I would say I'm excited for a SNES classic or a N64 classic but would somehow screw those up to by not meeting demand.MLB: Chicago Cubs
