This will be the first Nintendo product I will have played since the original came out really smart move by them. 30 games seems small, I see them releasing a 100+ game version in the future. Smart all around.

Re: NES Classic Edition
I feel like I saw something similar for the Genesis that included a cartridge slot. Hopefully they do the same thing.
Not likely as there would be licensing issues. The one that I got from the online Wii store way back just used numbers. Though most of them seem to play pretty similarly to the original.
I might need to start dropping some hints on this one...PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: NES Classic Edition
Nintendo confirmed there will be no other games for this than the 30, it has no internet or storage.
Personally I just say buy a Raspberry Pi 3, throw RetroPie on it, get all the old consoles (up to PS1/N64 era) plus arcade, DOS.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
Yeah...
Excitebike, Bases Loaded, Ducktales..
A lot of my favorite NES games from childhood are missing, but it still seems like a pretty good value. I have a USB NES controller and other means, but I'll probably get it, if for nothing more than adding to the future man cave. I beat Super Mario Bros. 3 again just last month.Last edited by AUChase; 07-14-2016, 05:07 PM.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
Since its release, the $35 Raspberry Pi mini-computer has been hailed as the perfect all-in-one retro game console. Now, it’s easier to do than ever,
$35 Raspberry PI 3
$_8 Case
$_5 SD card (16GB, quite a bit for just NES/16 Bit carts)
$10(or less) Power Supply (Most phone chargers will work for power as well, so you may already have a working power supply)
$10(or less) USB SNES and Genesis controllers, can also use old 360/PS3 controllers, or even wireless DS4. Could also pay more for bluetooth retro controllers.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
This does look cool, but my Ouya already emulates all of these games perfectly on my TV, as well as Atari 2600, Colecovision, SNES and Genesis games. Hell, it even does a decent job with N64 and NeoGeo games. I might pick this up when I can find it on the cheap though, similar retro boxes sell for $20 or less at the local swap meet.
Also, no cartridge port kills it for me (I collect NES carts).www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: NES Classic Edition
It looks like a Nintendo (major plus), with the controllers to boot and enough games that I find worth it. It's the nostalgia package as a whole that makes it a purchase. Of course anyone could go the Rom route but that's not really the target audience this is for.
It doesn't really seem that incomprehensible why this would cause so much excitement.
Hell, I might buy two. One for the man cave and one for the living room.Last edited by DickDalewood; 07-14-2016, 07:29 PM.Comment

Re: NES Classic Edition
Yeah. I can run the ROMS but this has the look of a legit console that I want. I'm super excited.
