    External DVD burner speed question

So here's the deal...I own a laptop with very limited USB ports so I went out to but a 4 port hub and i bring it home and i connect my external harddrive to it and my comp says "HI SPEED HD NOT CONNECT TO HI SPEED USB PORT" (or something close to that. So i tried moving some files to the HD and it really is slower then when i had my HD hooked up to my HI SPEED USB PORTS...the thing is i have an external DVD burner and when I plugged it into my 4 port hub the same message came up again...the thing is i dont want to test it out and waste a dvd so can someone tell me if the low speed port would affect the speed of the burner or does it not affect it at all....

my guess should be it don't since the burning rate of the dvd is dependent on the burner and not the transfer rate of the files...

    any help would be appreciated
Working...
