In my opinion, there is nothing at all attractive about mainstream beauty. If your primary talent is an ability to walk down a runway wearing hideous clothing or pose half-naked in some lame magazine, you have nothing at all to offer me in terms of physical attraction.

I have never been the slightest bit attracted to a supermodel or model of any sort. I absolutely hate them. In my opinion, there is nothing at all attractive about mainstream beauty. Well, based on the Rosie O'Donnell analogy, apparently my wording probably wasn't nearly what it should have been to represent the point I was trying to make. With that said, sorry about the "spinning" comment. Going back and looking, it appears I was far more than problem than the way others were reading into it.

Let me start off by clarifying that physical attraction isn't based primarily on talent. I made it seem as though my thoughts on supermodels were such because all they do is strut down a runway and appear in crappy magazines. That is part of the reason, the other being that I simply do not find them attractive. If they were at least somewhat appealing to me, and they had some other talent that appealed to me, then I am sure things would be quite different.

So, talent plays a crucial role, but it is not the exclusive trait. Look at all the pop songstresses out there (Simpson, Aguilera, et al.) who are widely regarded as being both good-looking and, in someway, shape or form, talented. But they don't do anything for me. Why? Because I don't find them attractive to start out with. If that's not on the table to begin with, then it really doesn't matter how talented (or not) you are.

Talent and overall appeal can make a big difference on someone who isn't widely regarded as being attractive though. Take, for example, the group hissy fit that is thrown here whenever I bring up Sara Watkins -- see my avatar if you're unaware as to who she is -- into some type of "most beatiful female" discussion. She is far from being regarded as being on the level of the types of females mentioned in the Showdown, you need only read the fifteen replies after I post something about her as proof of this. But I find her to be extremely attractive, and because she is so amazingly talented, even more appealing than if she weren't. She would be in my top ten regardless of her musical abilities, but because of those abilities she takes my number one spot in a huge runaway.

And, yes, I know that everyone is sick and tired of me bringing her into things like this, but the reason I do so here is because of the fact she is the perfect example of what I am trying to prove here with my personal tastes in women. If you're tired of seeing her name and hearing my go on and on about her, I apologize for doing so yet again.

Oh, and if the flow of these paragraphs is totally whack, I also apologize for that. I started out with two, kept adding in pieces and ended up trying to work it all back together in a coherent manner. Hopefully I was able to.

Meanwhile, it's a damn shame that Mandy wasn't able to pull out the victory here.
