Is money an issue? You can get some sick programs if you're willing to lay down the money.

If you wish to burn the VOB files to a standard DVDR disc, you need to have all the other standard DVD files as well, including IFO and BUP files.

Oh God, Im never gonna burn these vids.. i dono any of this

Any access to a Mac and iMovie and iDVD? That's what I use. Painless and quick.

Free - Windows Movie Maker... included with Windows XP SP2

Cheap - Premiere Studio. You can get the CS version for around $20 on eBay... it can do more or less anything you want.

Expensive - Adobe Premiere Pro... runs typically in the range of $500. Can do a lot of things and once you get the hang of it, its not too hard. You can get a smaller version of it for around $100.

I you have further help, I suggest checking out http://www.videohelp.com/. They have lots of reviews of almost any software out there from free to expensive. Also, they have a message board which is very good for specific questions.

Here's what I did. Bought ULEAD VideoStudio6 on ebay for pennies and then bought the latest upgrade from their site for $50. Very user friendly.

Yeah, ULEAD sounds solid for what you are trying to do.

I personally use Pinnacle because I bought it with my computer (it was part of an analog capture pack I needed because we don't have a digital camcorder) but I have had my fair share of headaches. If I had the choice (and a digital camcorder), I'd probably switch to ULEAD. I've used their free trial and was very happy with it but don't do enough video editing to spring for the change from Pinnacle.

If you want a real video editing tool you want Final Cut Pro. There are no substitutions no matter what Adobe tries to tell you.

Of course, Final Cut Pro is really expensive.

Just a question... it downloads into .wmv format. What do I have to convert it to to burn onto a dvd and then play it in a normal dvd player?

Probably the easiest solution is to buy the plug-in for $10. I've never used that but aside from that, the only way is to use several different programs to create the ISO and then burn it with your burning program... can be a headache at times.

Ya mac is where its at....

I was actually at friends house last night, and he was trying to make a dvd with Windows Movie Maker (which im not even sure you can do?) and was watching and just laughing....

Because Mac is so much easier and you can make some slick stuff with iMovie and iDVD (which comes on every mac)
