    Gankutsuou-The Count of Mone Cristo

One of the best animes i've ever watched. Its so good that i don't think it deserves to be labled as anime. I mean when anime is mentioned, people either think of very good anime (Cowboy Bebop. Samurai Champoo, Dragon Ball Z, Hunter X Hunter) or bad anime (One Peice-great manga but horrible anime etc) However this is in a league of its own.

Its not about super powers or a fighting tournment; its about revenge and betrayal. Really its very similar to The Count of Monte Cristo, but is also very different. Its one anime/show i would recommend anyone to watch.

Theres no clear way to explain it. The colors the artist decided to use are strange at first, But it plays out greatly with the show. It does have a tecno look to it, but its easily overlooked once the core of the show starts. I guess i'll show the intro and ending to the show which will probably be a better means of letting you see what i mean

The songs are written by the same guy, some french man. Truly an awesome show. I hope the videos can show this show off more then me writing could ever do.

There are 24 eps. It was soo good i watched all 24 in 3 days, which is a record for me watching something. Truly i've hoped i've convinced one of you to watch it. I put it on the same level if not higher than The Fountain, but without all the complications.

The difference between this and the book is very common even from the beginning. The show contains aliens and such, so its not limited to just the Earth. Relating to Dumas' its very close and also very far off. Its told through Albert's perspective, instead of the Count's. Albert befriends the count, actually they have a very close relationship. Everything really takes place in Paris though. Except the Prison which is on a different planet. The main story is about the Aristocrats who really run the Paris.

They are three noble families really that rule Paries. Morchef, Villfort and i cant remember the other one. Morchef is basically the head of the military and Albert's father. Villfort is head Judge of court, and the other dude is bascially the biggest stock broker in the country. These three basically rule Paris and are the foundation of the show. However theres alot of back story and side stories that intertine really well. And i'll say again, theres no killing really, i mean one or two people........ do die, but nothing with heads blowing up, or swords cutting people. Its really something for people who love interesting Stories, deep interesting stories. They duel, instead of physically doing so, they get into robots, but throught out the entire show theres probably 5 mins of robot dueling lol

Within the first 5 eps or so the show just takes off. I finished it in 3 days because as soon as you get to the ending of the ep, something major happens making you want to watch the next ep. And it basically did that for every ep in a way, making it very hard to put down

The truth be told, i watched the movie The Count of Monte Cristo with the guy who played Jesus in The Passion. That movie was an exact copy of the novel; it was a great movie, but i found this show much more than the movie, which should say a lot.

I still have all 24 eps on my p.c. Its one series i'm not willing to detele just yet, however i completed the series early last year. I figure i'll re-watch it again for sure. Had my friend watch it and he was clearly amazed at the story
