Alright, I need to get a laptop for this upcoming year and it's got some pretty high requirements. I'm a business information technology major, but I'm thinking of minoring or changing my major to some sort of graphics design or multimedia. Anyway, on to the requirements:
PC: Vista Ready
Vista Business or XP with SP2
Laptop or Tablet: Core 2 Duo processor (or AMD comparable processor) 1.8 GHz (or higher)
2GB or more RAM
100 GB or bigger HDD
DVD+-RW drive
160 GB (MIN) external HDD
NIC that runs on a 10Base-T network and have an RJ-45 connector/ Wireless network cards should support the 802.11a/g standard.
128 MB or more video ram
3-4 year warranty
Microsoft Office 2007 enterprise (I can get that for free if you know what I'm saying
)
So as you can see, this will be biting a hole in my pocket. Hell, I probably won't be able to pay for it, so I'm gonna have to look for some financial aid for this.
Any recommendations on the computer? I was thinking if I go into multimedia or graphics design I should get a Mac Book or something, but those are damn expensive. Help a brother out.
