Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
I didn't call TRL one of the worst 5 films ever made. Its one of the worst five films I have seen in a theatre. There are tons of terrible movies out there - many which I have either rented or never bothered to watch that I don't count in this discussion (like Dodgeball - free rental trash). There have been about 4-5 movies in my lifetime (I'm 35) where I didn't stay until the end of the movie and the Thin Red Line was one of them. I just found the characters completely one dimensional and the whole thing rather boring. Maybe my expectations were too high when I watched it but I was utterly disappointed. If you didn't like it, you didn't like it. That's your opinion. But to consider it one of the 5 worst movies ever is a little preposterous, no?
I didn't mean to question your intelligence, but Thin Red Line is revered by film critics. (Not to say their opinion is the end-all-be-all of film opinions, but I'm sure critics all wouldn't love a film that's one of the worst 5 ever made, either.)
What would you think of me if I said "In my opinion, Albert Einstein was an idiot"? That's off-base, and I think calling TRL one of the worst 5 films ever is almost as equally off-base.
Now let me list the 5 worst movie's I've ever seen:
Freddy Got Fingered
My Baby's Daddy
Showgirls
Street Fighter
Super Mario Bros.

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Oh crap...I just remembered I DID see SMB in theaters. That was totally awful!
I remember thinking throughout the whole thing, "where are the goombas? Bowser?" and then that little green bald lizard/alien thing showed up...
Game movies have their own circle of hell for awfulness. I have hopes for the planned Metal Gear movie, but in reality, it could just another poorly acted Van Damme or Seagal action flick.

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Agreed. I loved the Matrix but the 2nd and 3rd movies just didn't make much sense.Say what you want about the acting but the plot was pretty inventive and thought provoking. The very nature of the movie the Matrix brings up many issues about society and humanity that can go quite philosophically deep. Plus you had the whole issue of deja vu and other little things like that explained. It was quite intelligent, not "stupid" IMO. Now the 2nd and 3rd movies were just terrible.
After further review, I think Attack of the Clones was worse simply based on the quality of acting. If the topic was "What was the worst acting job in the history of movies?" I think Hayden Christenson would get it for his work in Episode II. I loved the original Star Wars movies and of course went and saw all the new ones but at the end of the day they were just bad and irrelevant movies compared to the original trilogy.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 10-09-2007, 06:16 PM.Comment

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
The Hills Have Eyes - Senseless, disturbing violence. Offensive and not that scary.
The Butterfly Effect - Kutcher trying to be "smart." Offensive to my mind.
King Kong - If I wanted to stare at a gorilla and have him stare back at me for 3 hours, I would have gone to the zoo with a piece of meat on my face. Bad job.
Saw III - Stupid ending. Stupid middle. Stupid beginning. You suck Saw III.Comment

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Why bother, when it's that bad? I had more interesting things to do with the final 50 minutes of the movie, like inspect concrete for cracks or try to split a hair with a BB gun.
Yes, "The Matrix" sucked that hard, in my opinion.
Take care,

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
The first 20 minutes of "Dude" were hilarious, especially the scene at the fast-food drive-thru. The second 20 minutes were pretty bad. The final 30 to 40 minutes rank right up there with the worst movie ever put on celluloid.
Take care,

101 posts, not one vote for The Hulk.
Absolutely awful. I'd rather wallow around in my own feces than watch that movie.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Since they haven't been mentioned yet, I'm assuming no one here has seen Karate Dog, or Baby Geniuses 1/2.
How about Ed? That movie about the baseball playing monkey who farts a lot with Matt LeBlanc.
I haven't seen any of them so I won't list them.
I will put Dragonheart into the mix though. The ending is laughable and Dennis Quaid is pretty much awful in everything he does.
I loved AI though and it's my favorite Spielberg movie so I can't be trusted on these things.Last edited by Defel; 10-09-2007, 07:25 PM.Comment

Re: What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Man The Hulk sucked hard.
The worst movie I ever saw, without a doubt, was Babe II. It was just the stupidest thing ever. I was like seven, and I can still vividly remember the brutalness of that movie.
And what's with the hate for Undercover Brother? Without that we don't have The Hebrew Hammer. "Shabbat Shalom Mother****ers!"Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment
