For me it depends. I usually listen to the Japanese audio, but the dubs of shows like Cowboy Bebop and GITS SAC are amazing.

Big fan of Jormungand right now. I believe Funimation has an episode or two on Youtube for watching. It's about an arms dealer and her crew. Good mix of action and comedy in the writing.

          Hayao Miyazaki to retire.
VENICE, Italy -- Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki's animation studio says `'The Wind Rises," in competition at the Venice Film Festival, will be his last film.

Koju Hoshino announced Miyazaki's intention to retire Sunday, but declined to take questions, deferring to a news conference next week in Tokyo. `'He wants to say goodbye to all of you, `' the Studio Ghibli president said.

                      Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread

I love Crunchyroll, I just wish they would get some of their series (Fairy Tail) back and would get enough of a following to license other bigger shows.

They currently have some good ones (Sword Art Online, Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, Durarara) and a couple of the bigger ones (Bleach, Naruto, and Naruto Shippuden.)

There is a glaring lack of some of the other bigger names though, especially Funimation. There is no Dragon Ball Z, no Gundam (both of which make me really sad) and no One Piece. If they had those titles, I guarantee their service would explode.

They also have fate/Zero, but not fate/Stay Night (of which fate/Zero is the prequel) so it seems their selection is a bit random.

Still a very good service, and the fact that they have apps for the PS3 (and I'm sure they have a 360 app, but I don't use my 360 so I'm not 100% sure) makes it that much better.

Been watching Sword Art Online on Toonami lately and I'm loving it so far. Missed the first episode or two though.

I have a quick question. With holiday sales starting soon, I was looking at a Blu Ray player. For those who watch anime on Blu Ray, how is it? I still have tons of older DVD's, but have noticed that Blu Ray prices for full series are manageable.

I've only got a few, the new Rebuild of Evangelion stuff but they're great, picture and sound quality wise. Rest of my stuff is on DVD, but I'm planning on picking up the Berserk movies as soon as the third is released on blu-ray.

Nice. I'm hesitant in picking up older shows, mainly due to the whole "originally animated in SD" thing. I imagine Redline will look amazing

So I heard Trigger, the guys being Gurren Lagann and its universe size mechs(no seriously, universe size) have a new show out Kill LA Kill and well...let's say that Trigger did their usual thing and have tropes going WAAAAAAAY over top of what people think they should be.

Yeah this show is nuts, but if you know Trigger you know what you're going to get.
