i just got a blu-ray player the other day. i've been considering rebuying a few of my favorite series in the single collection so i don't have the old school 6 discs per series (saving space). Can anyone who has the blu0ray versions of these series tell me if it's worth it to move from dvd to blu-ray?

Most older shows are upscales and not worth the Blu Ray format unless you're are collecting for the first time or really like a series. Clannad looks nice in Blu Ray, especially with Kyo Ani's animation. The same with Bebop in that it's the best it'll look. Not sure about Chobits or Kanon as they're both probably 480p native.

Hmm the Digimon Tri series looks interesting. Not looking for it to be good however I will watch it due to Nostalgic reason.

Im currently trying to finish the Gatari series. I have 2 episodes left of Mono Second season and need to watch Neko, Hana and Tsuki.

I also see theres going to be a new Durarara! I still got to sit down and watch the the first season completely. I still only have seen mixed episodes.

Following the success of “Lucy,” Scarlett Johansson looks ready to take on another action pic, this one coming from the world of Japanese anime.

Johansson is set to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of the popular anime pic “Ghost in the Shell.” Deadline Hollywood had reported that the actress had the offer to star but at the time she was still undecided about taking the role. Sources now say she has agreed to star in the pic.

Like I said on another board, I love the idea of a Ghost in the Shell live action movie. I love Scarlett Johansson. I'm not loving the idea of Scarlett Johansson starring in a Ghost in the Shell movie. I'll still see it, and it's good that an A-lister is attached to the project but my expectations aren't that high right now.

I remember seeing a Death Note movie that wasn't terrible, but it did differ from the series. Don't think I've seen any "good" ones, but I'm more than willing to admit movies aren't my thing.

I liked Darker Than Black, if I remember properly but I haven't seen it for 5 or 6 years.
