    Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread

Decided to watch Your Lie in April since April was ending, and finished it a few days ago. I can finally see why people lobe this show. I'm not a big fan of slice of life or romantic amines but I will watch them, and this is one o the best I ever seen. Not sure why but the episodes felt way to long when I was watching them despite being only 20 mins long(not including opening and ending). Also watched the Yu Yu Hakusho and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Was skeptical about Yu Yu at first since it is from the 90s and is similar to DBZ, but it better than a lot of Shounen Anime out here and better than DBZ(which is a nostalgic anime for most people). As for FMAB, I hated it growing up for some reason but decided to watch it and it was great.

Decided to watch Punchline and I'm in love with the animation. Reminds me a of Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill, I loved how those anime looked. Still confused with the story so far.

Not sure what to watch now so I'm watching Ace of Diamond, and Toriko.

You can check out My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU as well.

It's got it's pretty funny moments, and once you get past the name of it it's not what I would have guessed it to be if I took it at face value.

A friend recommend it to be but IDK, the name just draws me away. Ima give it a try through, but now I really don't know what to expect from it from you post.

I'll second that recommendation. Very misleading title, main character makes the show worth it.

Finally caved in and watched it, and I have to say it pretty damn good. I was expecting a Romantic anime but instead I got a Slice of life/Comedy. The main character is great for it. My favorite character so far is Totsuka. I find it funny that everyone thinks he is a girl at first, and then forgets he is a guy most of the time. Kinda pissed that it only 13 episodes long. The main character is great, and I like how he see the world different compared to everyone else.

Season 2 is airing currently, simulcast on Crunchyroll.

And yeah. Once I got past the ridiculous name I found a show I really really enjoyed.

Just had to thank you two for recommending that to him because I had some down time and decided to check it out. Really enjoyed it and will probably start on season two soon.

This year I got into anime after my roommate from college failed miserably at getting me into it back then. For some reason I finally tried his recent recommendation of Hunter Hunter and got hooked.

If you're looking for more interesting shows, Planetes is a great watch if you're looking for something slice of life with a bit of seriousness mixed in. Set in space, but actually about "space debris" workers instead of flashy mechs. It's probably one of, if not, my favorite series.

How many episodes are there? Im realizing the more I watch the more I appreciate anime that have around 24 total episodes to the entire story. Leaves less room for filler imo. Hunter Hunter drained me with the 140+ episodes even though it was really good, but even that had alot of fluff. Thats one of the reasons I refuse to get into One Piece and them shows with 400+ episodes. Cant do it, tell your story and move on lol.

My earlier post inspired me to push through and finish Mirai Nikki......maaaan.

AgK anime pissed me off big time but thats mostly to do with I am a huge Manga fan and the anime went a completely different direction.

I agree with Death Note, just found it boring as hell.

Im on Darker than Black and its pretty awesome so far. Good action scenes and the MC reminds me of a Electric Batman so thats never a bad thing. Lol. Not finished it yet, my watch list is huge atm. XD

Hunter x Hunter is something I always wanted to get into but I am not sure I want to do the anime or the Manga. With OP I went with manga but the problem with ongoing is your left with cliff hangers.

I still got Isuca (Ewww, lol) and many others that I am in the middle of watching as well.

Finished Maou Testament and caught up on Triage X and DxD. I was a little unhappy with DxD but the last 2 episodes are going back to the right LN order so I am good now. I see why they did the things they did to add in Irena and Ross earlier for screen time and it didnt mess up events that much.

Also I cant wait until later this year for Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakeri. Basically a portal opens up in Japan and a army of monsters come pouring out leaving piles upon piles of bodies in their wake. The Japanese forces finally take control of the situation and drive the creatures back and send a squad into the portal. Its being developed by A-1 pictures so the animation will be nice so thats a plus.

                            Heres the teaser:

Binged it. Was alright. I felt it lost a bit of steam at the end there. Specifically the last episode. I didnt like the character Kana because in retrospect her and her ability were pretty pointless to the story; I think they wasted her role really and apparently shes treated differently in the manga. Also didnt like Murano because she just was the least interesting character on the show imo. Shes spends the whole show being useless. Hard to like that after watching so many anime where the girl leads are kicking ***. I like Migi though. But my favorite character was THE female parasyte who's name escapes me.

                                Good show overall though.
