Any good anime this season? All I know so far is Haiykuu is back this season. The only anime show I've been watching was Dragon Ball Super, was waiting for the other shows to finish before I watch them.

Bungo stray dogs is also back and definitely worth a watch if you missed it last season. I also been watching Days as well, but still can't put my finger on why I'm a fan of it.

I started the first season but never finished it. From what I seen, it was really good though. Gonna watch it this weekend.Comment

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
So I just binged season 1-3 of My Hero Academia, my goodness what a ride. I’m not into anime but was recommended this show because I love One Punch Man and I’m so glad I started it, I’m just geeking out over this show.
Now I’m curious, what anime to start next?

You aren't into anime but you want recommedations? That's a tough one lol
I've seen One Punch Man, but I'm not sure there are a lot of great comparisons. Something like Saiki (On Netflix) has a similar protagonist. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but it had its moments
I haven't seen My Hero Academia, but I know the plot. Being that you aren't necessarily a fan of anime but you like 2 shoes with strong protagonist with a good mix of humor and action I'd probably recommend something like Seven Deadly Sins (also on Netflix). It has some very compelling characters, an interesting story, good fights, and didn't take itself too seriously. I prefer the subbed version but the English dub is tolerable

In hopes of maybe getting this one going again. I'll kind of respond to the 11 year old OP.
A few of my favorites anime from the last 4-5 years are

Classroom of the Elite
Asterisk War
One Punch Man
World Trigger
Favorite manga (leaving off ones with an anime):
Psyren
Tales of Demons and Gods
Id
Noblesse
A nod to a few a few classics:
Ninja Scroll
Iria
Akira
Vampire Hunter D
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Samurai X
Ranma 1/2Last edited by KSUowls; 01-03-2019, 12:14 AM.Comment

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
My sister likes anime very much... And she even decided to have a hairstyle as one of those characters... Our parents were so angry when she decided to color her hair blue! That was a real drama
And the final of that drama was very sad... She just burned her hair with those chemicals... Even now she has dandruff as a consequence. She has to use all those remedies like here and now she just hates blue hair color
I'm not a big fan of anime. The only one I like is Devil May Cry.Comment

I'm starting to get into it and find out what i like. Some are just too silly or too serious for me or if its an older anime i tend to get turned off with the color of the show. The animation is great but i love the bright hd color of todays animation.
I also prefer subbed versions too but I started watch My Hero Academia in english dub and i actually kinda prefer it, well done voice acting.Comment

When you say silly are your referring to the humor or something like dragon ball z where the characters can blow up a planet?I'm starting to get into it and find out what i like. Assuming it is the ladder there are going to be a lot of good options you can try. Especially if you don't mind watching subtitled versions. Crunchyroll is your friend. They simulcast some current seasons (essentially broken out by natural season, winter, spring, summer fall) and have a large library to choose from of completed shows.
I'd recommend trying to pick out a genre or two you like if you really want to get into it. The "magic school" theme you have in my hero academia is a fairly popular one. Chrome shelled regios and asterisk war being 2 of the better ones in that category to me.

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
Sorry to bump the thread, but was going to post this in Off Topic but felt it fit better here.
Manga artist and author Kentaro Miura has passed away at 54 due to an aortic dissection. Berserk is legendary and had a huge impact on me as an up and coming manga fan and person.
The man was a legend, RIP.Last edited by LambertandHam; 05-19-2021, 11:46 PM.Comment

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
Sad news. I'm not suggesting that this had anything to do with this situation, but the industry in Japan for manga artists is incredibly stressful. I know that there have been a number of situations that have led to health problems.Comment

Manga artists, animators, harsh industry. I really respect what Miura did for his assistants.Comment

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
Here’s something different from Netflix. Filipino horror anime. It will be voiced by Filipino actors, English by American Filipinos and Tagalog from the Philippines.

Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread
Well i guess I'm into anime now. Caught up with Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan. That's some great stuff from both of them. AoT being one of the best stories i've seen in awhile. I'm currently watching Deathnote for the first time and its pretty riveting.Last edited by RockinDaMike; 02-13-2022, 11:26 AM.Comment
