Full review here. I'll be picking this up this weekend.Eagle Eye - 4.0/5.0 Blu-Ray.com

Eagle Eye offers two hours of solid entertainment, the film engendering a sense of urgency and confusion in the audience through its smartly veiled plot that doesn't reveal itself too early, captured by D.J. Caruso's fine direction that engages the audience and allows them to experience the topsy-turvy world the film showcases. Also a positive is the film's satisfying series of medium-scale action sequences that keep the tempo and vitality of the story full steam ahead. The lead performers turn in above-average performances, with Shia LaBeouf and Billy Bob Thornton standing above the rest. Once again, DreamWorks delivers a high quality Blu-ray of a new release film. Eagle Eye features first-class audio and video presentations, supported by a hearty selection of bonus materials. For an entertaining Saturday night thriller that takes advantage of the Blu-ray format, look no further than Eagle Eye. Recommended.Last edited by DTX3; 12-29-2008, 06:41 PM.XBL: DTX3

Eagle Eye was ok, saw it in the theater, not something I'd own though as I have no interest in ever seeing it again. The ending was just bad IMO.Comment

Didn't like Eagle Eye enough to ever see it again, and I saw a free pre-screening.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Agree completely with both of you guys. I thought the movie was decent but there were some laughable parts, ie. the power lines scene, that left me shaking my head while at the same time laughing at it.Comment

To be fair, older blu rays have come down in price. Walmart just put out some blu ray twin packs at $20 and $30. They also have several individual blu rays at $10.
Prices at brick and mortar stores at terrible. New releases are $20-25 online at places like Amazon.comComment

Actually I'm suprised how quick Bluray prices have come down. I guess right now supply is overwhelming demand but that will change soon as alot of places that are selling TV's are giving away BD players for free or greatly reduced as part of the package.
Reservoir Dogs I got for $10, Sin City for $12 and Speed for $15 and they're all great hidef transfers and sound. I've got about 25 BD's now and I've paid between $10 to $20 for all of them and most of them are newer movies.Last edited by Seymour Scagnetti; 12-30-2008, 04:21 AM.Comment

Where did you come across Sin City in BR for only 12.00? Thats one of the movies I wanted but I cant find it for anywhere near that price online anywhere.Actually I'm suprised how quick Bluray prices have come down. Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
There's a franchise up here in Toronto that's called Future Shop, it's like a Best Buy and they had Sin City for $12 CDN which was kind of weird because is was the cheapest BD there by at least $5 and there wasn't alot of copies available so I don't know why they discounted it so much.
One caveat with the disc however. The PQ and SQ are excellent and it actually has DTS-MA which is not advertised on the disc. The sound rocks but there's one problem. With about a quarter of the dialogue passages there's a buzzing thru the center channel that occurs and I thought it was my sound system but I played it on another system and then exchanged the disc and it's still thier. The Hidef version was on TV last week and I caught some of it and that buzzing was there just not as evident as the BD (probably because it was DD5.1) so it probably is the source material.Last edited by Seymour Scagnetti; 12-30-2008, 11:57 AM.Comment

The only place that still has blu-ray priced outrageously is Barnes & Noble. I went in there yesterday to use a giftcard I had and I wanted to pick up a couple blu-rays but the damn things were priced at 35-40 bucks. F'n crazy.

Sin City is a Canadian release only right now. It is supposed to come late Spring along with From Dusk Till Dawn in the US. I have both and their much better than the DVD versions, except that Dusk's could have been better. It has white specs of dirt throughout the film.Comment

A few people, like GearsX8, see it as a rental popcorn flick. I saw a carbon copy of the worst features of a bunch of recent sci-fi movies that came out this decade, that added in LaBeouf and Monaghan (plus pretty decent special effects).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
