Gears, I'm hearing a lot of good additions to the DC. Let me know how it is.

Picking it up Tuesday. I love Saw V!

Here you go Blzer, here's the changes, like I said, it's 2 minutes longer and same ending as you saw in the theater, just one second longer. It's on youtube if you want to see it.

I still love the movie and series, just disappointed as I thought we were getting a more definitive version, and it appears as it's a double dip waiting to happen.

Interesting, David Hackl said the director's cut would be 14 minutes longer with some scenes switched around and such.

I'm content with the same ending... I wasn't really going in expecting anything huge anyway, and as I said when I first saw it, I realized that it wasn't the elaborate traps and the huge twist ending that made me love these movies, because I was trapped in the story instead.

Anyway, that's a disappointment. But hey, anything will do for me. I'm just glad they didn't mess up the ending like they did in Saw III and Saw IV (with the unrated versions).

Yeah, and supposedly 3 alternate endings. Like I said, there's a double dip here for sure. I'm saying mid-October another Saw V DVD hits shelves.

The theatrical run is 92 minutes and this version is 96 minutes, so I guess only 4 minutes more.

So far, PQ is just as good as the previous 3 SAW films on Blu-ray. It still holds the blue tint in some scenes and the slight grain. Details are good too. Blacks are deep. I have to say that this has to be so far the best looking SAW on Blu-ray. I am glad that they have kept the gritty feel of these films even on high def.

AQ is very aggressive with the sound effects and has a lot of depth with the dialogue which is great.

There is also a digital copy, which is sweet.

I saw 1 scene with Tobin Bell when he has Hoffman tied up, he looks like he could be the perfect Freddy Krueger in the remake.

I should hopefully have my full review up later in the evening or early tomorrow.

That's good to hear that it retains the same look, I like the first 4 and their look on Blu-ray. I've only seen a DVD version of the director's cut, getting the BD on Tuesday.

              Thanks!

No problem at all. To me, it looks the best of all of them with much better details.......but still retains that gritty feeling.

You know what sucks Scott, like you mentioned before, all these will release on Blu-ray and then eventually we will get a double dip with Ultimate versions.

What's even worse, it may come in a hexilogy boxset with the other Saw movies, so we'd have to re-buy all of them.

Those of you that shelled out $90 on The Matrix collection and it's half assed HDDVD transfer will be pleased to know the original movie is coming specifically to Blu-ray in a special 10th Anniversary Edition. I got RocknRolla today and there's an ad for the coming soon stuff. As I was walking out of the store there was a big sign that said RocknRolla available January 27th,guess that's why there was only 2 copies of it and only on BR.

Also coming (though you probably already know but just in case you don't):
                      An American in Paris
                      Gigi
                      Being There
                      Any Given Sunday
                      King Kong
                      Amadeus
                      North by Northwest
                      Heat

and as part of the Ultimate Collector's edition series:
                      Gone with the Wind
                      The Wizard of Oz
                      Woodstock

Reminder for King Kong and Saw V coming out tomorrow (those are the only ones I plan on purchasing amidst the other spectacular releases). For you price matchers and penny savers, here are the cheapest retail prices I could find:

Saw V at Walmart for $25.86

King Kong at Sears for $18.99

But if you don't mind the extra buck, Best Buy has King Kong for $19.99 this week.

As for the Bourne Trilogy release next week, I believe the Target ad will show around a $65 sale price.

Holy crap, if you guys get the chance, rent The Fountain on Blu-Ray. I didn't even intend to watch the movie (I was messing with my settings and testing the connections I just made) and ended up sitting there with my jaw dropped throughout for the next 2 hours.

Haha, I loaded a bowl before the movie started and it was sitting in my hand untouched for the last hour and a half of that movie because I couldn't pry myself away or think about anything else.

I liked that movie better than both Requiem for a Dream and Pi -- amazing film both technically and story/emotions-wise. Coolest movie I've seen in years.

They have it at $29.99. It's at least $4 more than Walmart's price. If you have a $5 coupon, you're saving less than a buck when comparing with Walmart's retail price. I'm not saying you should buy it at Walmart, I'm just saying you should price match it at Best Buy and hold onto $4 more. At least, I get that cheap.

Let me put it this way: there are movies that are around the $23 - $26 price tag that I'm waiting to drop to at least $20 before I buy them. Sad? Yes, but when it's about 20 movies, that's anywhere between $60 - $120 saved. Saw V is an exception because it's a new release that has no reason to drop in price any time soon.

Anyway, I'll be doing the two price matches at Best Buy and using my $10 Reward Zone coupon.

Really? I couldve sworn that I seen it for about 26$ in the ad.
