i read about this too...very sad. he sang this song on-stage with an oxygen tank hooked up to himself (it's one thing to lie, but it's something different altogether when you use props)...i see he's getting psychiatric help. a shame...

Honestly, this broke my heart. At first I just thought they said, he doesn't have cancer anymore which is great, but the way it happened was so odd. Hillsong has ordered to remove all albums from stores and taken the song off their site and will remaster the CD/DVD. On the recording, there was an extra song sung on the DVD which didn't make the CD "Alive in You". I would guess that makes the new CD.

I never knew Anberlin and Chevelle were christian bands/christian based.

Emery is my 2nd favorite band and have been for years. So much meaning behind their songs. I like going on songmeanings.net and reading what their fans think each song is about. Love bands that go outside the norm, I tell people Emery is a christian band and they don't believe me because of their punk screamo style.

sorry for the 2 year bump

I love their style. Lyrically it really doesn't matter much for me but if they're good then it's a plus and Emery definatly has good lyrics. I also love the harmonies that they use and how the select the places to trade off between clean and screamed vocals.

That was bad. I don't mind him lying people do it every day, but to have the Oxygen tank on was so wrong that is not even funny. Sad story.

Re: Who listens to Christian music

some new ones i've grabbed on itunes...

              - really like steven curtis chapman's newest...kinda depressing, but after listening to it a LOT, i think it may be his best stuff.

              - any kansas fan might enjoy john elefante and mastadon - nice "old school" sound.

              - grabbed 3 songs from switchfoot's newest cd...not a fan of all of it, but my wife and i enjoy them somewhat.

              - i don't know if any of you guys like "danyew" - there was a free download called "wake up" - might give you a bit of a glimpse and see if you like it.

I thought we weren't allowed to talk about religion on this website, so this thread seems pretty hypocritical to me.....

Well they may not be a "Christian band", not signed to a Christian Label, although most Touch & Nail bands are, but the members are. Its the whole argument over if you are labeled a Christian Band, then you lose listeners and critics think your music sucks.

Emery's new CD "We Do What We Want" came out today. Definitely the hardest one yet. A couple songs with some really fast drum play. Pretty good overall. Worth getting if you are reading this post.
