I couldn't stand the Wizard of Oz as a kid. Every character annoyed the crap out of me. As someone else stated, Toy Story is a modern classic. Great concept, great cast, great animation and a film that will be considered a major landmark for generations to come.

Kind of like how the Wizard of Oz has been for about 40 years now.

I always thought the Wizard of Oz was a so-so movie. It has its moments but overall I enjoyed Toy Story much more. Actually, I'm gonna go watch Toy Story now!

More like 69 years. 1939 was arguably the best year for movies with classics like Wizard Of Oz, Gone With the Wind, Mr Smith Goes To Washington, Stagecoach, Of Mice And Men & Wuthering Heights.

I was referring to his comment about "generations appreciating" it. I was giving a couple of generations (40 years) for the appreciation factor.

I realized that you knew the year and expected a response. I was just getting a plug in for 1939 movies.
