    Touch Screen Smartphones

I'm looking at buying a new phone sonn and I see we have an iphone and a blackberry thread, but I'm not really interested in either. I want to get a touch screen phone, but haven't really decided which one. I like the Samsung Omnia and the HTC, but dont know much about either and I dont no anybody who has one personally. Anybody have experiences with either one of those or any other smartphone?

    Samsung Eternity.

I have the LG Vu and thought it was awesome, then I played with my friends Eternity and now I hate my phone.

Now you KNOW where you should be asking this question man.

But seriously, I have the HTC Touch Pro and I like it. There are a few things about it that bug me (unnecessary face buttons that lead to a smaller screen). But that will be fixed when the HTC Touch Pro 2 comes out later this year. The TP2 will also have a tilting screen, so that is what I will be upgrading to when it drops.

I have it for Sprint with the Everything Plan and I cannot complain.

Haha, yeah I know. But I'm at work right now so thats not really an option

So you like the HTC? I want something that can double as an MP3 player/media player as well. Hows the battery life on it when listening to music, etc?

It comes with Windows Mobile, so you could probably listen to music and watch movies on it if you have enough memory. I havent used it as an MP3 player (mainly because my iPod is always with me), but I am on AIM a lot which is a heavy drain on the battery. After about 2 hours, the battery has about half its charge left.

Also, if you are interested in the TP, I would try to hold off and wait for the TP2. The battery life is supposed to be much better and the phone is a lot more pleasing on the eyes.

Although it's somewhat outdated by now, I have the HTC Mogul. I bought a 4G memory card, and the thing holds about 300 songs, and 20 videos of ATHF and Robot Chicken, and I'm not even halfway to using all my memory. I also downloaded a media player that I use to stream different radio stations over the net, but any data-intensive application sucks the battery power like you wouldn't believe. I listen to a local radio sports talk show over the net on my phone, since it won't stream in the office on my computer, and three hours later, I'll have half the charge I started with.
