Ooma - no monthly phone bills - anyone use it?

I found out about this product through my weekly Costco advertisement email and have since been intrigued.

Basically you pay $200-$249 (depends on where you purchase) for this unit and there are no monthly phone bills for any call made in the US. They do offer a premier package which has some convenient options that I would not need. For this they charge either $12.95 a month or $99 a year, but again, I wouldn't need these.

The basic package comes with caller ID, Call waiting, etc.

It's a VOIP (voice over IP) system similar to Vonage, but unlike vonage, there are no monthly fee's. There are two units. One is hooked up directly to your modem (you must have high speed internet) and the other to a phone jack anywhere in your house.

I've read a ton of reviews and the ratings for the product are quite high 4-4.5 out of 5 for the most part. I was first looking at something like Vonage, but their ratings are horrible (typically 1-1.5 out of 5).

Anyone have this system or know anyone that does? I currently pay $45 a month for local and long distance, so this thing would pay for itself in about 4-5 months. The company is relatively new and therefore quite risky (been around since 06 or 07) and are still in debt, but were just given additional funds in September.
But even if they go under in a year, I'll come out ahead.

The units are now offered in many larger retailers (Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, etc.), so it looks as if they could have a bright future.

Here is their websites description of how it works:

Any input anyone has is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
