Lopez to get late night talk show on TBS starting in November

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - TBS is throwing its hat into the late-night ring with a new talk show starring actor-comic George Lopez.
The project represents Lopez's return to series TV after his eponymous ABC sitcom ran for six seasons until 2007. The as-yet-untitled talk show will launch in November at 11 p.m.


weeknights, putting its second half hour against NBC's "The Tonight Show" and CBS' "Late Night."
The network said in a statement it plans an "outdoor street-party atmosphere" along with celebrity guests, live music and comedy acts. The show will also feature audience members interacting with guests.
"If change can come to the White House, then change can come to late night," Lopez said. "Yes I can!"

He's funny, if they put it on HULU or something like that I might watch at times, but I'm never up for the late night stuff. I'll definitely agree that it should be better than Frank TV no matter how it turns out.

If nothing else, I will forever respect George Lopez for choking Carlos Mencia and slamming him up against a wall. And thank **** his horrible show got canceled, because I absolutely hate that guy.

I'll probably check it out.. he's a funny dude and I always like to support La Raza in TV pursuits, because even in this day and age, there are hardly any prominent Latinos on TV or in the media. It's either singing and dancing to get famous or being reduced to playing bit parts as "Latino gangster #2" on CSI and ****.. kinda sad really.

I like Lopez and will definitely check out his talk show. He's a funny guy and seems to genuinely love what he does unlike some comics who I think are out there just to make a fast buck.

Not sure... I don't think there was ever a video, but Lopez was on Howard Stern when he said it. I think it's been about three years now. I will see if I can find a link.

Yeah, damn him to make fun of his own race. Damn Mexicans! lol btw i am Mexican, so i didnt say anything "racist". Hell, i dont even get mad when people call me a wetback, beaner or whatever. People are to damned sensitive these days.

nah man, it wasn't making fun of mexicans (himself), it was making fun of whites the whole show. evidently he's a mexican-pride kind of guy but in the wrong way (like how nazis are proud of the aryan race, but in the wrong way).

I do agree people are too sensitive nowadays but i'm not calling for him to be boycotted or saying no one should watch him, the guy is funny and deserves to make a living. I'm just saying that me personally was turned off by his radical views and he lost a fan with that concert.

I didn't see nothing wrong with Lopez's last show. A lot of comics have racist humor. To me, it's some of the funniest stuff.
