Just watched 22 Jump Street. Pretty damn hilarious. I liked it more than the first, and the little things like the moments of self awareness in the movie are great.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there was a fair bit of improvisation?

Dumb and Dumber To - There's some pretty good laughs to be had but there's also plenty of misses and the humor seemed to be a lot more over the top than the original. What really bugged me though is that they basically pulled a Hangover Part II and took the same story structure/plot devices of the first and re-used them here. I mean, it took 20 years to make a sequel and you're just going to rehash things? Pretty weak if you ask me.

Overall it's a decent movie but my initial impression is that it's nowhere near the classic that is the original.

St. Vincent - maybe I was in the mood for a movie like this, but I walked away thinking this may have been one of the best movies I've seen in the last 20 years. Murray was brilliant (and I really didn't like him in his recent string of avant garde stuff). The timing on the comedic moments and lines was perfect. The kid actor was great and could have a bright future. McCarthy was unusual in her role as the kid's mom. It was nice to see her not needing to gutter mouth it every third word to be funny. Naomi Watts played her part well also. Just a great balance, speed and delivery.

Not exactly a Thanksgiving movie, but I am now watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". I love this music in this movie. Gene Wilder killed it as Willy Wonka. The song "Pure Imagination" was such a good song. Really getting in the mood for the holidays. I am so ready for Thanksgiving.

Also, in the family mood, so I am going to watch "Despicable Me" on ABC Family this Sunday.

Today, I plan to watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" on ABC at 7 pm CST. Even though I have it on DVD, I will watch it on TV. It looks better in HD anyway. I like to watch this cartoon every year to get me in the mood for the holiday season. Oh, I just found out that they're showing a bonus movie. Its called "This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers". Not a fan of that bonus movie.

Saw "The Maze Runner". Have no knowledge at all about the book and only knew of this through the trailer. Highly anticipating this, but found this to get drawn out with horrible dialogue and a landscape that seemed a bit too manicured for what it was supposed to be. It just didn't grab me one bit. I guess it was geared more to those who read the book.... dunno. Just too many things wrong with this.

The Hunt (Jagten) - Hands down, the best acting performance I've ever seen in a movie. I've always loved Mads Mikkelsen, but this is just stunning. The movie itself is outstanding, even though it's one of the hardest movies I've ever seen. The story is so realistic and scary that you're gripped from the first minute to the last.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, and like thrillers, definitely check it out.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 - sort of coerced by the fam to see this. Had its moments, but at my age, an illustrated movie really needs to bring something. I could see where big fans of the first one would really like this one. I thought the main element was over the top.

Early early Thanksgiving morning, I found on the FYI channel the documentary of the making of Caddyshack. I think this doc. is about 6 years old. Of course I had to watch Caddyshack again, what a classic movie.
