Hmmmmm.... MyTouch Slide supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, OOG, and RM but no WAV.

I know there are other formats (ones that I'm surely not familiar with). I just know that MP3 is the main format. I misspoke though.

Verizon's 4g LTE sim cards are out and in Verizon's computer systems now

We just got some alleged (but very convincing) internal documents on Verizon's 4G plans, and it's mostly stuff we've already heard -- 5-12Mbps down, aircards before smartphones, and plans to roll out in 30 cities in 2010. That said, documents dated this week show the company's still on track to serve up 100 million connections by the end of the year, and a pair of independent tipsters have just sent us pics of Verizon computers ready and waiting for those precious LTE SIM cards. Furthermore, the docs also claim that the planned LTE isn't just fast, it's got a lag-destroying 30ms latency too, and fans of wider wireless computing can expect 4G tablets of some sort in 2011 as well. See all the goodies in our gallery below. %Gallery-97705% [Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Yeah, the performance increase is suppose to be pretty amazing.

I have a Droid. Should be any day now when they release it officially for my handset.

                Can't wait.

Apparently the Droid 2 comes out August 23rd with android 2.2 So I guess when that phone comes out, the rest of the android phones will get it shortly afterwards or around the same time frame.

That blows. You can definitely feel the performance increase, in addition to many added features

I heard Droid was going to be one of the first ones to receive the upgrade... before HTC or Samsung phones.

Ready to have your mind blown? Good, then sit down for a moment: we're hearing from a trusted source that the thoroughly-leaked Motorola Droid 2 for Verizon will be launching on August 12 -- although it seems to be something of a soft launch, because marketing efforts aren't scheduled to kick in until a week and a half later on the 23rd. What's even more interesting, though, is that there'll be a Star Wars edition of the phone launching with a white R2-D2 on the back. For the record, this isn't the first time Verizon has toyed with the Droid line's Star Wars origins; Motorola actually had to license the name from Lucasfilm, and to promote the original phone, Big Red sent around remote-control Artoos last year to various media outlets. What we don't know is whether the special edition will be launching at the same time as the stock version -- so if the plain-vanilla Droid 2 comes out first, that might automatically make the decision of which to buy for some folks. What about you? [Thanks, RBF] %Poll-49813%

That would be cool if they do release it on the 12th, that means they could release Froyo on everything else quicker. Since the Droid 2 suppose to have Froyo already installed.

Rooting is easy just follow instructions for your particular phone and you should be good to go. I've rooted the last three HTC phones I've owned, no problem whatsoever.
