My wife and I were just discussing last night, that we think that this show may be on the decline. I think a lot of you will definitely agree. I think it has been for a while. They probably need to end it after Michael Scott leaves, but I don't think they will. To be honest, I don't want the show to end, but I'm afraid it's going to get kinda bad.

I agree precisely.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: *** The Office: Season 7 ***
That Dwight storyline was incredibly stupid. Everything he did on the episode was stupid, really. He's funny because he's a weirdo, but he's not a moron. This episode treated him as if he were a legit moron, and it kind of felt out of left field.Comment

I don't know if I want to go there, but if you look at this last episode you could make that assumption. On the other hand I thought the first episode was great. I will say it's not as consistent as it use to be.My wife and I were just discussing last night, that we think that this show may be on the decline. I think a lot of you will definitely agree. Yeah, out of character from beginning to end. If they wanted a loose re-creation of that Julia Roberts Pretty Woman scene, they should have eliminated the beet juice stained hands and a lobotomized Dwight.

Re: *** The Office: Season 7 ***
I enjoyed the bit when Dwight left the office, and Erin took a pic of him with her camera, said "there", and threw it in the trash.
Then, she explains to the audience how she likes disposable cameras and how they're fun, but she like real cameras better as you can see the pics.
I love her cluelessness sometimes...XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

That scene was cringe worthy. How clueless and stupid do you want to make these people?I enjoyed the bit when Dwight left the office, and Erin took a pic of him with her camera, said "there", and threw it in the trash.

Yeah, which still begs the question, "How stupid do you want to make these people"? I think they've gone overboard with Michael sometimes.Comment

I don't know where I'd be in life had I never seen Michael Scott drive his rental car directly into a lake on command. It was a life changing moment for me.Comment

There's foolish, there's dim-witted and then there's unbelievably brain dead, and sometimes they cross that line and it's a detriment to the characters and show. The car thing is something that actually happens, people follow GPS instructions that take them into buildings, off roads into ditches, etc. The camera thing is something nobody would ever do, to not only think you don't develop pictures on a disposable camera, but to keep buying and using them?Comment

Hmmmm....all I can say is I don't get it. It's scenes like these that make Michael look like an idiotic cartoon character, rather than the intended clueless loser. I hope you are exaggerating about the scene's impact on your life.
By the way, it wasn't funny.Comment

You're right about the camera thing. I felt embarrasedfor the character of Erin to have to utter those lines, but mostly stunned that a professional writer could come up with something so lame. There's foolish, there's dim-witted and then there's unbelievably brain dead, and sometimes they cross that line and it's a detriment to the characters and show. JayBee, I've noticed that you seem to really dislike a lot of the shows you watch (and post about).
