Yeah, the more I think about it, the less interested I am.

I guess it's a smart way to reboot Batman, but I really feel like they should have made a second Man of Steel before going this route.

If its just a live action of that animated movie then what is the point. If they center it with those two fighting then meh.

Only movie they should be together in is the justice league one.

        Team-up movie = okay.

Movie about a non-established Batman (in this unified DCU) who somehow kicks Superman's *** because it's "cool" = **** off.

Yeah, I don't blame anybody for feeling differently. Maybe I have a personal bias against the guy, who knows. I just thought the "You're the answer, son" scene, among a couple others, were just super stiff. Maybe I am just used to a Chubby Pa Kent "riding the tractor and joking about arthritis" kinda character.

I find the comments regarding the Batman/Superman movie interesting. Definitely looking forward to some details.....

Would it be wishful thinking to hope that this might set up a real, full on adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller) down the road? Obviously, a number of events from Nolan's trilogy would have to be ignored.

Count me in on the no interest in this party.

After Nolan's take on Batman with Christian Bale, I feel there's no way I won't be underwhelmed, with anyone else playing Batman not named JGL.

Then again, I really couldn't care less about Superman either.

              Re: Superman Man Of Steel

I've seen Man of Steel and all of Nolan's Batman movies.

Even if Batman is a bit different, how in the hell is he supposed to kick Superman's ***?

If you have to go the Hercules route (from the cartoon film) and remove his powers, maybe with Kryptonie, that's just no fun.

This is why they can't ever do a DC film. Batman and Superman should not exist in the same world, period.

If they team up that's nice cause then hey they got a ton of Villains they could also pair up to make it entertaining. Having Superman get his *** kicked doesn't really make sense when you know he just killed Zod.

You've seen me spew on that as well. Probably my biggest issue with the Avengers, in fact.

At least when Tony is in the suit, he seems to not be able to be killed by Thor striking lightning on him; in fact, it powered his suit to 400% IIRC. Plus, the entire film wasn't a battle between them... just half of a scene.

Superman can shred Batman in half just like 'that'. Strengthening Batman to Superman's level would take away what makes Batman who he is, and weakening Superman to Batman's level would take away what makes Superman who he is.

                      How so?

I think anything involving Kryptonite is gonna be a rushed job considering the source isn't even a known entity in this new Superman franchise. Having Bruce Wayne not only discover it and somehow realize it weakens Superman all in one movie is gonna be big ol turd.

I just don't see how this really works on the scale they're talking about without another Superman and some kind of Batman movie to establish Batman and his character. Propping up a new Batman in the second Superman movie seems very careless to me.

Yep this is a big old cash grab. It doesn't work right now and I doubt snyder and goyer will make it work. This seems just careless after all the hard work the dark knight trilogy did.

I think people need to let the Dark Knight Trilogy go though when thinking of these new movies, it's an entirely different universe and a new Batman.

Exactly. Dark Knight is over. That telling of Batman played its course. The next one will be a new telling.

                              Re: Superman Man Of Steel

A Man of Steel sequel was going to make money anyway. Adding Batman does not make it a "cash grab." A cash grab would be rushing a Superman sequel, a Batman reboot, and the Flash movie all before JL.

This is the best way for them to reboot Batman before JL. A stand-alone movie would be rushed and seem to close to TDK's end. This way you bring in the new Bruce Wayne and Batman, introduce them to the Man of Steel/Justice League universe, and don't have to rush to get both movies out.

Granted, I hate Superman (I still haven't even seen Man of Steel), so adding the new Batman makes this an opening day movie for me and I have no complaints about them "taking away from Superman's movie for Batman," so my perspective is probably a little different.

People are rushing to conclusions. We literally know nothing about the movie.

Definitely agree here. It's hilarious (and annoying) reading the comments all over the internet with people freaking out about the possibility of them having Batman beat up Superman or whatever else there is to complain about.

The funny thing is, and this is weird for me to say, but I think I'm most interested in a Flash movie out of anything coming from DC in the near future. I can't believe it's taken them this long to get one off the ground.
