    The Classic Comedy Bit Thread

Ran across something last night I haven't heard in years. So I was thinking why not a classic comedy thread featuring clips people UL to YouTube as maybe some younger guys around here would get exposure to earlier stuff that still holds up and were great influences to some modern comedians.

I'd say let's keep the guideline to stuff that is around the mid-80's and earlier.

I'm gonna kick it off with this one from the Smothers Brothers. For those who don't know, Dickie and Tom were, yes, actual brothers and had a very (then) controversial TV show that pushed the bar at the time, and actually got cancelled for their content. Their main schtick when first appearing on the scene were as folk singers who took a comedic approach to the bits. As far as the TV show, Steve Martin was a writer/performer on the show at one point.
