Though let's be fair, Nolan's Bat-universe doesn't belong with Superman and any other... dare I say "superhuman" elements.
Their biggest mistake still remains to be an early explosion rather than a build-up. The one thing I fail to understand is why everybody says that DC is trying to "catch up to Marvel." I know what you're saying and I'm sure that it's true, but I don't understand why there needs to be any catching up. They could do this thirty years from now, and it won't be any different. It's not like technology, it's just a set of films. I just never quite understood why they felt they needed to rush.
The main reason I was against this film when it was initially announced was because I didn't want there to be another Batman for a while. I wanted Nolan's Batman to be the "definition of" in the film market and let it sit in for a while, then eventually they could reboot him with another vision... but not just four years down the road. Oh well, it happened. Batman was cool, too. It's a shame the movie he was in wasn't that cool.
