Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
We used to listen to this album ad nausea when it first came out as it was right after his Mork & Mindy stint and he was just hitting the comedy circuits. My brother saw him here locally back in the 80's and thought he was amazing and brilliant, though was clearly cokin' in light of how he was presenting. Like many brilliant artists, he was so good he could perform despite or in light of the drug influence.

Still one of my favorite routines (NSFW):

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
Wanted to bump this since it's just a few days after the 10th anniversary.
Obviously different celebrity deaths would feel certain ways after they die but you just forget about it/move on.
But Robin Williams death is always one which has stuck with me. For me that was the one which really put mental health "on the map". Obviously depression is one of the big things people think of, but mental health is so complex and can be so many different things and it doesn't need to just be (or even be at all) relating to depression. I always tell people "look out for your mental health because nobody else will". It could be stress, anxiety, anything, focusing on your own mental health should be one of people's main focuses in life.

Agreed. I feel the same way about Anthony Bourdain's passing.Wanted to bump this since it's just a few days after the 10th anniversary.

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
Of all the great work put out by Williams, The World According To Garp is still my favorite of his all-time. It was that early on that you knew he wasn't just funny but a true great actor. And a huge reason Jim Carey is one of my all-time favorites is because he reminds me so much of Williams.Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: Robin Williams dead at 63
Perhaps my memory escapes me, but I didn't realize Robin Williams passed the day after my father. I guess he was overshadowed in the moment, which is hard to do but understandable in my relative situation (no pun intended).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
